Came because the dude in the street invited us and said they offer free drinks with each meal. However, our server did not offer free drinks. We ordered 3 meals. It didn't really matter to us. There were 2 other parties inside, and it took 20 minutes for us to put our order in. We were about to leave and she finally came to our table. We ordered flautas, tacos, and quesadillas. Came with rice and beans. Everything had good flavor, but I will never go back and waste my money on this place because the meat inside every dish was so tiny portion. They charge USA price for Mexican food, and they barely give you meat. 🤣 lol, we are from Texas, and $10 (35-40 soles) gives you a great portion of meat for any dish. My husband liked the beer selection, but there were no pregnant friendly drinks to choose from besides soda. All they had was Jamaica (hibiscus), but pregnant women can't consume this. There's no other healthy drink here. No lemonade, no chicha, only soda and Jamaica. My 2 year old enjoyed the quesadillas with guacamole on the side, but she's 2. As a pregnant woman, I was not satisfied. The portion of meat is well beneath any health recommendation for portion sizes. We spent 120 soles for 3 dishes and 2 beers. It was so overpriced for the tiny meat portion. This is not a place where I will spend my money again. Makes me actually want to open my own restaurant because I'm so tired of these subpar restaurants we've been experiencing...
Read moreAs someone who’s extremely picky when it comes to food, I don’t give 5-star reviews lightly—but El Tejano in Pisac absolutely earned every one of them.
From the moment I walked in, the warm, laid-back vibe and welcoming staff made me feel right at home. But let’s talk about the real star of the show: the food. I’m not exaggerating when I say their burritos are next-level—overflowing with fresh, flavorful ingredients, perfectly seasoned, and wrapped in a tortilla that’s soft but holds everything together like a pro. Whether you go for the classic carne asada, chicken, or a veggie version, every bite is satisfying and seriously delicious.
Now let’s talk margaritas. These aren’t your average, watered-down drinks—they’re huge, bold, and made with quality tequila. They don’t skimp on flavor or strength, and they pair perfectly with the food. I tried both the classic lime and the passionfruit, and I’m still dreaming about them.
What really sets El Tejano apart, though, is how accommodating they are. Being a picky eater means I usually have to explain a million little preferences, but they listened carefully and tailored my meal without a hitch. No eye-rolls, no attitude—just kindness and attention to detail. It’s rare to find that level of care, especially in such a vibrant, relaxed setting.
If you're in Pisac and even remotely enjoy Mexican food, run—don’t walk—to El Tejano. You’ll leave full, happy, and already planning...
Read moreOverall pretty solid mexican-ish food.
I ordered the two taco platter and everything was tasty. The tacos aren’t authentic but had tons of cheese and filling. The chicken was noticeably better than the beef though. The women who work there were all nice as well.
The only negatives was everything was a bit too salty and it was a bit overpriced for peru for...
