Janaq Rooftop — Restaurant in Urubamba

They advertise that they open at 5. I arrived a little after 5 and they said they open at 5:30. I waited in the lobby of the hotel until it was time but by then, the sun had set and it was dark. I wanted to see the sunset so that was a little disappointing. They were still setting up the patio when I got up there. The menu was very limited. They had an unlimited chicken wings deal but they said you had to clear your plate, salad, potatoes and wings, to order another round of wings. I just got one order of chicken wings. Don’t expect American style wings, they are just fried chicken wings and they serve a dipping sauce with them. The salad dressing was delicious but they literally gave me 4 pieces greens. Tiny salad! The potatoes were delicious and they gave an adequate serving. The mint lemonade was good. They spent the whole night trying to start the fire and never succeeded so needless to say it was quite cold. Great view, okay...

I was staying at hotel California and this restaurant is right above it. I was too lazy to leave the hotel and decided to go up to the restaurant and it was so bad. I don’t like leaving bad reviews but this place was so disappointing. I ordered their vegetable soup which was just water with shaved carrots, broccoli and oregano swimming at the top. It feels like the oregano was added on top once served. Then ordered their chicharron de trucha which the menu stated it came with tartar sauce but was instead given mustard, ketchup, and 1 packet of mayo 😭 the service was ok but I was the only one there. Will not be retuning to the hotel...
