We’re a family that’s visited this place about 8 times in the 14 days we’ve been in the valley so far. The cafe is cosy and we obviously like the food, but we’ve been coming in spite of the service. All around the people working there seem like they feel that guests are a nuisance, and last week we had enough. Our 1 year old found a piece of half eaten chocolate on the floor, and when I saw I quickly grabbed it out of his mouth and put it on one of the dirty plates on the table. They then charged us for the chocolate claiming our 1 year old took it and ate it. I was honestly taken aback with the attitude, the rolling eyes, and the whole ordeal of having to argue over a gross dirty piece of chocolate from the FLOOR, that cost 5 soles. We don’t care about the money, but the attitude was crazy! We didn’t get our money back. And haven’t been back since. We’re staying here for the next 11 months and eat out daily. If I was the owners I’d be so disappointed knowing the servers I’d hired just cost me about 20.000 soles over the next 11 months. We’ll be taking our...
Read moreOrdered eggs Benedict, avocado toast, coffee and a juice. In any place drinks come before food but here apparently juice takes 6min more than the meal. We waited for drinks to come, so ended up eating cold meals. The toast/bread was hard in both meals, the eggs way too runny inside (egg whites not cooked), coffee so bitter even with sugar in! Service was bad, asked about the juice multiple times and no one seemed to care. No sugar, salt or pepper on the tables, so had to keep coming up to the bar to ask. Prices are way too high for what you get and the way you’re served. Wouldn’t suggest going. Antojitos cafe around the corner is way cheaper and may even...
Read moreLove this place! My favourite Urubamba hangout. Great pastries and super friendly service. It's worth coming closer to 11am, as the pastry cabinet tends to be more well-stocked then. (You'll probably have less options earlier in the morning.) The coffees are OK.
I also like that they've got medicinal mushrooms (reishi, chaga, lion's mane, turkey tail, etc.) in their little shop area, as well as natural soaps and other things. Some of the prices seem to be a little higher than the local ecotiendas but I appreciate the convenience...
