First time to try Kuya J and was immediately disappointed. Quality of the other food was good, however the serving quantity of the "Beef Pares" was not worth it's price. I ordered a Solo Meal Beef Pares while my friends ordered Sinigang na Baboy and Pinoy Style Fried Chicken. When our orders were served, the serving quantity of other two orders were way much more from my Beef Pares order. The other two orders could at least feed/serve two people, while my Beef Pares order even lacks soup and was merely good for a single serving. I approached the staff at the counter and asked if the serving quantity was right, to which the staff responded "Oo sir kasi single serving lang". I understand it’s a solo serving meal but comparing it to our other orders, serving quantity difference was clearly evident. Not asking for any compensation but the staff had no sense of customer recovery either.

Food was excellent! It was flavourful, it was served hot, and the food presentation was also good. We ordered the chicken bbq (I would return for this!), the kare kare, squid, lumpiang sariwa. Everything was good. Maybe the wrapper of the lumpia was a little too thick but the flavour was good. I just removed half the wrapper and it was ok. They serve appetizers for free - sweet potato chips, peanuts and kropek. Fantastic. It was an unexpected bonus. Their mango shake was very good as well. We finished all the food and couldn’t do dessert anymore. The place was clean. The service was excellent as well - attentive, polite and professional. No complaints on any aspect.

1st and last time eating at Kuya J's Sm South branch 😓 Found a piece of hair on three of our food orders. One for the pancit canton(see photo below), another one in the fried rice(didn't took a picture 'cause i was disappointed na and same lang ng itsura doon sa buhok sa canton), and lastly sa dessert. Ang funny pa kasi every time we report the hair on the food(don't worry we reported it nicely. Hindi pagalit or pa-angil), lagi lang sasabihin is "papaltan na lang." Of course you would expect the servers to apologize first 'cause no one would want an unexpected hair on their food dba?? Ang unhygienic naman nun. Pinaltan naman yung tatlong food na may hair pero no one cares to apologize for that incident. My mom also told me na inirapan ako ng food server sa pangatlong beses na nagraise ako ng concern about the hair sa food. Di ko naman kasalanan na may buhok doon 😅 hay.. Tapos bandang huli yung fried rice na pinalit, pinunch sa bill namin HAHA buti chineck ko and tinanggal naman. Dapat lang naman dba 😅 So all in all, it was a big disappointment. The price is kinda expensive with little food portions... Nagustuhan ko naman yung tofu sisig.. pero onti HAHA tapos ang ingay 😅 ang ingay sa loob ng restaurant... nagtunog fast food. Anyway, I wouldn't want to go back. That's my two cents for now.

1st and last time eating at Kuya J's Sm South branch 😓 Found a piece of hair on three of our food orders. We had a wonderful experience here at Kuya J Sm Southmall! The staff were warm and welcoming. The food was great. I especially enjoyed the grilled pork liempo and Kare-kare. The restaurant team was attentive and well-informed about the menu, offering helpful suggestions that made our meal even more enjoyable. Special thanks to Cyrus for his excellent recommendations and friendly service. Even though the restaurant was fairly busy, service was prompt and friendly throughout.
