Tiny but fantastic little steakhouse in central Baguio. Cash only payments so come prepared. Table seating for perhaps 20-25 people total. Selection of pastas, steaks, chicken & fish.
Steaks are rightly at center stage here. Prices are obviously higher because it's steak, but aren't excessive either. Wine & beer as well as sodas, water, and juices for beverages.
Loaded fries are exactly that and you either love the concept or you don't (like me). They are, regardless, faithful loaded chili fries! The Wagyu cube appetizer is phenomenal. Perfectly done to a light medium rare they literally melt in your mouth. Served with three small toast slices.
Sizzling pepper steak skillet is exactly that - so hot you can hear it coming from across the restaurant! Be careful - some of the sliced and diced goodness in there are slices of ginger!
The bacon wrapped filet mignon is deservedly a top contender here. Less expensive than the prime rib, this is a respectable sized filet wrapped in bacon. Your choice of a carb side, either white rice, mashed potatoes, or a side salad. Accompanied with a small dish of gravy, but really you didn't need anything beyond a dash of salt and a bit of pepper to enjoy the beef thoroughly.
Highly recommended and would definitely...
Read moreLocation: I had trouble finding the and walked around for 15 minutes. Its located in a dark alley off Legarda Road. The place is well lit inside, but you'd be scared to look for it in such a dimly lit alley. Inside it was decorated with repurposed crate planks. Cute lighting and tiled floors. Cute but nothing fancy.
Menu: Price on the menu was not updated. I ordered the rib eye steak for 290PHP. Waiter told me that they had upgraded their meat to USDA beef and it was now 550PHP. Additional chrges if you want a special rub. Signature rub was free.
Food: I ordered the ribeye steak mashed potatoes and buttered corn. Somebody needs to give the chef a lesson on how to make mashed potatoes. You don't just boil potatoes use a fork to mutilate them drown it in gravy and put parsley on top and call mashed potatoes. Thing was bland and super chunky. Corn was the cheap canned type slathered with butter. Not bad, not good either. Then comes the STEAK! 550Php for a 1/4 inch thick steak probably 4 oz. or so. I ordered it medium rare because I like its juices flowing. Lo and behold, it was dry. Signature rub was nothing more than salt. RIP OFF!!!
Verdict: if you're craving and there is literally nowhere else to go to, go here. If you've got a...
Read moreNothing beats a good service! I just chance upon this as I was walking leisurely around town. This is quite a small space but is linked to a cafe that only opens at 4PM. As for the ambience, expect a country feel added with good choice of music. The first time, I only got a cup of freshly brewed coffee (with 1 free refill) and Brownie Ala Mode (brownie topped with two scoops of ice cream and some pistachios on the side). That brownie is a must-try. Further, the staff are all smiles and accommodating.
The second time, finally, I could have a taste of their Truffle Mushroom Pasta and Cheeseburger. We thought the serving's only good for one, but surprisingly, it's for sharing. You'd have a good time here be it alone or...
