Dahun Cafe: A Blend of Nature and Modernity
During my visit to Dahun Cafe, I encountered a few aspects that shaped my overall impression of the place. It's worth mentioning that the cafe had just recently opened, which might explain the extended wait time for our orders. It took about 20 minutes to get our orders.
Upon stepping in, the ambiance was relatively pleasant, seamlessly fusing elements of nature and modern design. However, I couldn't help but notice that the chairs were a bit wobbly and seemed like they might have been sourced from value stores. The cafe feels a bit cramped and overcrowded. Additionally, the cafe's location is not very ideal, as it's somewhat hidden and not easily accessible.
Opting for the Matcha Latte and Spanish Latte, I had mixed feelings about the beverages. The Matcha Latte was unfortunately overshadowed by an excessive milkiness, somewhat compromising the matcha's distinct flavor. As for the Spanish Latte, it fell into the "so-so" category, it does not give that caffeine kick.
We also decided to try their signature "croffle." While it was enjoyable, I couldn't shake the feeling that it didn't quite justify its price point.
Dahun Cafe seems to have an aesthetic-driven focus, which is evident in their decor and offerings. However, there's a sense that they might have missed the mark in fully delivering on the promise of their theme.
In summary, Dahun Cafe offers a unique blend of nature-inspired design with modern elements. It's worth keeping in mind that the cafe is newly opened, which could account for the extended waiting time we experienced. While the ambiance and concept are intriguing, there's room for improvement in terms of the stability of their seating, beverage balance, and pricing. If you're seeking a cafe with aesthetic appeal, Dahun Cafe could still be a spot...
Read moreI got curious and wanted to try this newly opened cafe. The place looks good in their FB posts although not too much info about the menu. My friend and I went to their place by using Google Maps because the cab driver was not familiar with the place.
It was a bit crowded when we got there in the afternoon. It's to be expected as people wanted to try and satisfy their curiosity about the place just like I do. There are table and seats outside but we wanted to sit inside because of the weather.
We lined up to order and I ordered a Spanish Latte and their burger. We looked for our table and found one which is too close to another table but it will do. The interior is simple and clean. I like the white walls and chairs. I think if you are into Instagramable nooks then you will find it here.
The only disappointment for me was the food. I wasn't expecting a lot for a burger worth 260 pesos but I wasn't expecting to be so underwhelmed too. It was a mini burger. A stale bread with a small and single patty covered by a few lettuce. Fries on the side. Just the normal fries. I ordered a burger, not fries. So I would prefer a lesser quantity of fries with a normal-size juicy burger I guess. My coffee was better but they served it in small size. The cup or whatever it is that you call is aesthetic.
My fried got a sandwhich. And nothing special also about it. Just a normal sandwich.
I guess what I am trying to say is, although people are living mostly on social media now and into aesthetics, we still want to get something fair from what we are paying for.
The cafe is still new so they can still do something with the quality of food...
Read moreThis is a highly recommended restaurant at the heart of Cebu City. We had a Christmas dinner party here last Dec 21, 2024, and we were absolutely blown away by how accommodating all the staff and crew were. The food was delish and the price affordable.
The place was amazing. It was spacious and with great indoor and outdoor settings. We were 20+ and the place was more than enough for us to play and have fun around.
We were all mesmerized by the lighting because our photos turned out great! So if that is a huge consideration for you, then it wouldn't be a problem.
The best part was we booked the place less than 24 hours prior to our event! Imagine that? During the peak season of the holidays, and still they were able to accommodate us? Our original venue cancelled just around 24 hrs before our party. We were scrambling to find a replacement and we were desperate. Thank God...
