No fuss Korean Restaurant

Spontaneously got invited to dine at Somac for a quick bite and I was so glad I finally got to try them. I've tried their Samgyupsal take-away before and it was really really good and definitely ome of the best I've tried in Cebu. This time we cooked the food and it still live up to my expectations (but the take-away was still better). A set cost us 900 and got to choose the meat we wanted and you are not limited to pork (yes you can also order from their beef selection for this set). They served a couple pf side dishes to share. While these are not unlimited, they are refillable. All pf the side dishes were really good and their seafood soup even had actual seafood chunks ( yes, chunks!).

The space was open air and all tables were located on the second-floor but it was still cool and comfortable. Not much I can say on the interiors their food was the star! Service was quite fast as well amd all our servers were super friendly.

This is definitely one of the best Korean...

If Google map had zero stars, Somac would be deserving of it. I can honestly say that the jjampong and jajangmyeon were the worst I've ever had anywhere in the world. Ordered the jjampong, jajangmyun and tangsuyuk combo for 1200 php. First, it is over priced. Second, I got there around 11:30 am, and they served me jajangmyun that was made the day before. The noodles were cold and stale. When I said something to the server, she didn't say sorry but brought me a newly prepared jajangmyun. Didn't even bother to take my first one cuz she knew it was old and bad. Jjampong wasn't much better. No flavor. Not hot. Luke warm. Like it was sitting around for hours or overnight. And lastly the tangsuyuk was ok. But again not fresh or hot. Tasted like it was microwaved.

My advice to people who read this... don't order what I did. Its horrible. Maybe the meat dishes are better but I doubt it. Owners who serve old dishes will probably serve old meat as well.

Don't go....

As a foreigner, and a foodie, I have been looking to find a restaurant that offers high quality food, and that’s also healthy. I eat Korean food often when I’m back home. So when I saw that there was a Korean restaurant near me, I thought I would give it a shot; and I was throughly impressed. I ordered the kimchi-jjigae, and the biipimbap. Both were spot on. The kimchi-jjigae was fresh, flavoursome, with the right amount of spice and the bipimbap was also fresh and delicious. The portion sizes were very generous, so much so, I had to take some away in a doggy bag. The food was very authentic and came with loads of side dishes, like radish, cucumber, fish cake, and their kimchi which was very nice. I’m so glad I found this restaurant. It was a really satisfying experience and I’ll be back for lunch and dinner. The BBQ also looked amazing, so i might just have that for lunch tomorrow. Great value, great taste!...
