Ridiculously overpriced - I’ve said this before and will say it again - price is never an issue as long as quality is there, and the food is worth it.
Back when ila puti was new, the food was priced reasonably and the type that you’d come back for more.
Nowadays, it’s the type I would not suggest to anyone looking for somewhere great to try.
4 main courses and 1 soda drink set us back almost P2,100.00
The only exceptional dish (albeit it being overpriced at P700 and with very a small serving) was the Ca Ban Tui, which took time to prepare.
The rest of our orders were evidently done by Chef Mike (a.k.a the microwave) as they were served in less than 10 minutes from the time the server took the orders. If I wanted microwaved food I would have visited a fast-food joint. This clearly does not do justice to how these dishes were priced, at around P400 per.
To demand almost P400 for a microwaved mess is diabolical and highway robbery.
If supporting homegrown Cebu brands calls for me to pay ridiculous pricing, endure sub par food quality and enjoy servings fit for ants, then...

The tinapa cream cheese dip was the opening act, and what an introduction it was. Smoky, rich, yet refined—the kind of dish that lingers in your mind like a great cinematic shot. Out of this world, really.
Then came the stroganoff, and it was exactly the kind of comfort food that knows its place. Nothing overdone, nothing flashy—just deeply satisfying. It hit the spot in that rare way a meal can, like a perfectly timed cut in a film that leaves you nodding in appreciation.
I washed it all down with sakura lemonade, and here the experience turned quietly magical. Sweet, floral, refreshing—it was the graceful fade-out you hope for at the end of an already memorable story.
Ilaputi isn’t just another restaurant in Cebu; it’s another favorite in a growing list of reasons I’m falling in love with the city’s food scene. Like a great film, it stays with you well after the...
Read moreIlaputi in Ayala Mall offers a clean and inviting ambiance that complements its upscale vibe. While slightly on the pricey side, the generous portions and excellent taste justify the cost, particularly with standout dishes like their beef stroganoff and kimbap.
The beef stroganoff impresses with tender meat and a rich, creamy sauce that satisfies every bite. Their kimbap is a delightful blend of flavors and textures, perfect for those craving a taste of Korean cuisine.
However, not everything hits the mark. The salted egg pasta, despite its promise, falls short on delivering an authentic salted egg flavor, which may disappoint those expecting the real deal.
Overall, Ilaputi provides a pleasant dining experience with its cozy atmosphere and delectable offerings, though diners may want to skip the salted egg pasta in favor of their other...
