Tavolata® Ayala Center Cebu — Restaurant in Cebu City

Use to be a great place till a large flying cockroach crawled from the wall, to my cousin’s arms and joined us in the middle of the dining table with our food. My cousin used her napkin to put over the cockroach and gave it to the waiter. It was so gross. The restaurant was full and we almost screamed!

Things like this happen but it’s all about what the restaurant will do to compensate for something so gross. This is a high end restaurant!! The manager offered us free coffee after admitting the pest control service was just there the prior day and the insects tend to come out after that happens. It is gross. I stopped eating immediately and threw up at home. What would make them think I want to eat or drink anymore stuff after the gross event.

It’s sad a restaurant of that scale wouldn’t do something to compensate their patrons especially the regular ones!! Never went back to any of their establishments again. Truffle pasta only had a slight hint of truffle. Could use some crispy guanciale.

Pizza was good, the crust is crunchy but lacked that bit of chewy-ness I'm looking for from a properly-proofed dough.

Service is good, but I was initially put off by the warning given that outside beverages are not allowed (see, it was really hot outside and I just had to buy myself a really cold mango shake before coming here).
