Review of Olive and Figs
If you're in Cebu and looking for a place that serves exceptional food in a beautiful setting, Olive and Figs should be at the top of your list. Having dined there a couple of times, I can confidently say it offers one of the best dining experiences in the city.
Ambiance & Design
The restaurant boasts an aesthetically pleasing interior with good lighting that sets a relaxing and comfortable mood. The décor is modern yet cozy, making it an ideal spot for both casual and special occasions. The presence of a second floor adds to the space, allowing it to accommodate larger groups comfortably.
Top Dishes
Tomahawk Pork Chop: The star of the menu is undoubtedly the Tomahawk Pork Chop. It's the best I've tasted in Cebu – incredibly juicy with a perfect balance of sweet and sour flavors. The portion size is enormous, making it ideal for sharing.
Salads and Nachos: The salads and nachos are also noteworthy. Both are incredibly tasty, with fresh ingredients and generous servings. They make great starters or sides to the main dishes.
Service & Atmosphere
The service crew is attentive and friendly, contributing to the overall pleasant dining experience. While the restaurant can get quite busy on weekends and requires reservations, weekdays from Monday to Thursday are generally less crowded, allowing for a more relaxed visit.
Practicalities
Parking: Parking is conveniently located at the back of the restaurant. It's shared but sufficient for the guests' needs.
Restrooms: The restrooms, although situated outside the store at the back near Metro Sports, are clean and accessible.
Overall Impression
Despite being a bit on the pricey side, the quality of the food and the overall dining experience at Olive and Figs make it worth every penny. From the succulent Tomahawk Pork Chop to the delightful salads and nachos, each dish is crafted with care and expertise. The combination of great food, good service, and a cozy yet elegant ambiance makes Olive and Figs a must-visit for...
Read moreAte here last June, only 1 other table had a customer (but probably because I was there around 4pm).
Ordered: Steak Bites, Truffle Fries, and Mango Paradise
Steak Bites (P545) - it was standard seared steak cut into cuboids(lol cube unta ako gibutang diri pero di man diay cube), sauteed with mushrooms, bell peppers and olives. The steak was tender, and the flavor was good raman sad, although there's not really much into it, I think the praise here would go more to the good quality of ingredients used. 7.5/10
Truffle Fries (P295) - for a place like this, I would have preferred and expected a bit of thicker cuts for the potato. Although, the fries were perfectly crispy outside and still a bit soft and fluffy inside so it was still very good for me. The flavor was also good, the truffle oil flavor was present but it was not very overpowering, which was perfect. 8.5/10
Mango Paradise (P380) - I wanted this to be better, but I think there was something lacking (for me). I guess I was expecting too much because my favorite fruit is mango, and it was recently mango season (so I had eaten a lot of mangoes the past few months prior to this). Yes there are mango notes on this, but I'm not sure I think I should try it again soon and try to look for what I was missing here. The cocktail was still good though, there was just something I was looking for that made me feel this way. 6/10
The staff were friendly and very helpful, especially in telling me about their menu, specialties, and so on. The place was great too, although it may be exceptionally bright during daytime. My only problem with the place was I saw 1 fly near me buzzing annoyingly, I tried to bugaw (unsay english ani oy haha) it exaggeratedly pero wala man niduol ang staff wa guro kabantay (wa sad ko gatan-aw nila 🤣)
TL;DR:
Was the food good? Yes Worth the money? Kind of almost on the higher end, but Yes Were the staff friendly? Yes Was the place visibly clean? Yes (except for 1 fly)

Read moreWe ate at Olive and Figs on my birthday, and honestly? It turned out to be such a cozy and memorable celebration. It wasn’t crowded at all when we arrived, which made the whole place feel peaceful and intimate — just what I needed for a chill birthday dinner. The ambiance was calm, warm, and perfect for slow conversations over good food.
The staff were really boutan and accommodating. They were polite, attentive, and never intrusive. I appreciated how they made us feel welcome without hovering too much — just the right balance of good service.
For starters, we ordered the Nacho Libre and Truffle Fries. Then for our mains, we had the Tomahawk Pork Chop, Steak Bites, and Sweet & Spicy Korean Fried Chicken.
Lami silang tanan, but my top favorites would definitely be the Tomahawk and the Nacho Libre. The tomahawk was so flavorful, tender, and juicy — every bite made me say “Lamia oy, grabe!” It was hands down the highlight of the night. As for the nachos, even though I can’t fully describe the exact taste anymore (kay super excited nako ato nga night), I just remember how much I enjoyed it. It really stood out, and it became my second favorite after the tomahawk — which says a lot because usually nachos don’t leave that strong of an impression sa akoa — but this one did!
The Korean Fried Chicken was coated perfectly and had a satisfying sweet and spicy flavor, while the Steak Bites and Truffle Fries were both solid, flavorful choices that rounded out the meal.
Overall, Olive and Figs gave me exactly what I needed for my birthday — a relaxed atmosphere, genuinely good food, and warm, friendly service. I left full, happy, and with one of the best birthday dinner memories I’ve had. Super worth it, and definitely a place I’d go...
