A Memorable Month at Seda Central Bloc Cebu August 2024 I would like to share my experience after staying at Seda Central Bloc Cebu for the past month.

Hotel Location The hotel is located within Cebu City's IT Park, right next to Ayala Mall. There's a convenient passageway connecting the check-in counter on the 5th floor to Ayala Mall, making it easy to get around even on rainy days without needing an umbrella. Sugbo Mercado night market is also just across the street, and we visited it frequently.

Check-In/Check-Out We arrived slightly earlier than the official check-in time, but the staff kindly assisted us with an early check-in. Considering our long stay, they assigned us a room with a great view. During our stay, my parents also visited for a short 3-night stay. Both check-in and check-out processes were quick and efficient.

Room Condition The room was always kept clean, thanks to the housekeeping staff. However, the bathroom drainage was a bit slow, which was slightly inconvenient. Despite this, the shower had good water pressure and temperature.

Restaurant and Dining We had breakfast every morning at the 5th-floor restaurant. While the variety of food wasn't extensive, the menu did change slightly over the month, with different soups rotating in and out. The male manager and the staff were attentive in replenishing food and cleaning up spills immediately, which we appreciated.

While the menu wasn't exceptionally diverse, the friendly service made the dining experience enjoyable. In particular, Jessa and Fatima always greeted us warmly and remembered our family’s beverage preferences. On days when my son had a slight cold, they even brought napkins without us having to ask, which touched us deeply. Thanks to their kindness, my son now insists that we stay at Seda Hotel again on our next trip to Cebu.

Facilities We used the swimming pool almost every day during our stay. The rooftop pool on the 17th floor is small but was more than sufficient for our family, who loves swimming. The atmosphere was even better in the evenings with the lights adding to the ambiance. The gym on the 17th floor is also small but well-equipped with dumbbells, treadmills, and yoga mats, which suited our needs perfectly.

We also occasionally ordered dinner from the Pool Bar, enjoying pizza, burgers, and pasta, all of which were delicious. The staff at the 17th floor, both in cooking and serving, were friendly and kind, enhancing our dining experience.

Exceptional Service During our stay at Seda Central Bloc Cebu, we had friends visiting us, and we spent time together. After sightseeing in Cebu City, we returned to the hotel using a Grab taxi, only to realize that we had left our GoPro camera in the taxi. We tried contacting the driver through the Grab app, but the phone number provided was not working, and there was no response to our messages, leaving us in a difficult situation.

Thanks to the assistance of the staff on the 1st floor and the front desk staff on the 5th floor, we were able to get in touch with the driver and retrieve the GoPro camera within an hour. Both our family and our friends were deeply impressed by the staff's prompt and kind response. We would like to extend our special thanks to Gido R., Gonzalgo A., Ronel Condino on the 1st floor, and Dianna and Kyla on the 5th floor.

Additionally, we are very grateful to Aljun Tanguamos for always greeting us warmly and being so friendly whenever we met on the 1st or 5th floors.

Tomorrow marks the end of our month-long stay at Seda Central Bloc Cebu. While there were a few minor inconveniences, we leave with happy hearts, thanks to the excellent service provided by the hotel staff we’ve met during our stay. We hope...

We stayed at Seda last week of May and again before returning to US for 1 more night in June. The good thing about this hotel is its location and proximity to the city. It's right beside Ayala Center Bloc, close to the main Ayala Center Cebu, SM City and SM Seaside. There are many fast food, bake shops and convenience stores walking distance to the hotel. Another reason for staying is it has a connection to Ayala Center mall at the 5th floor right next to the reception area there's a bridge that connects to Ayala Center Bloc mall for shopping or if you need a spa day at the mall's 3rd floor wellness center. Seda also allows to bring food from outside, so we don't feel obliged to just eat inside the hotel's dining unlike resorts in Lapu Lapu like Crimson. Receptionists at Seda will also assist travelers in need of booking transportation from the airport or anywhere else for a fee. There are lots of cabs available in the ground floor and if there aren't any, security will also assist in hailing a cab for tourists needing to go elsewhere. Our room has its own w&d which was so convenient since we went on a snorkeling tour and we're able to bring clean clothes for our next destination. Perhaps my complaint is people in other rooms must've been smoking/vaping, because at night we could smell second hand smoke from the vents which directly hits our bedroom in Room 1410. This isn't Seda's fault though bc it clearly states that smoking is prohibited. However, they need to enforce this rule by demanding fines from repeat offenders, pretty sure housekeeping staff are aware which rooms stench of cigarette smoke. Also, room 1207, whenever we're using the dryer, we noticed the walls within the laundry closet become moist. It needs to have a vent, also the dryer vent needs cleaning and I had no idea where it is. The dishwashing soap supplied in Room 1207 was very much diluted of water and has no soap at all! Finally, the plug in the bathroom for Rm 1207 cannot handle blow dryer Gfci, it keeps tripping Everytime I'm drying my hair! Although I reported this to the operator they never sent engineering department to fix the issue. I couldn't plug it anywhere else bc the cord is too short it's not gonna be convenient so I had my hair air drying the whole time. Overall, I'd stay at Seda again mainly bc of its location, friendly and helpful staff. The most helpful among them all perhaps is Kingswell. He made sure we have our favorite breakfast treats available whenever we're dining. I'd still recommend it to family and friends despite the...

We stayed at this hotel after visiting the Radisson and Quest Hotel and were quite pleased with our experience. The location is excellent, with a skywalk directly connecting to the mall. The lifts by your rooms also go down to the car park, which has a grocery store as part of the mall—a great convenience if you're staying in a suite with a stove and fridge, you can take your groceries directly to your room from the lift access skipping reception. We cooked a few meals during our stay, and it worked out really well.Check-in was efficient, though we were informed that formal attire was required for breakfast—long sleeves and no shorts. Personally, I found this a bit strict, especially as someone who frequently stays in 4- and 5-star hotels in England. We followed the dress code on the first day but noticed others wearing shorts and short-sleeved shirts, so we did the same for the rest of our stay. My tailored shorts and presentable shirts seemed appropriate for a breakfast buffet, not a formal dinner. The hotel's location in the IT Park is ideal, with plenty of places to visit within walking distance, including Sugbo Mercado for street food, which we went to twice with my fiancée's friends. The lobby staff and security were incredibly helpful. You can order a Grab and wait in the lobby, and the security guards will notify you when your taxi arrives. On the rooftop, there’s a bar and restaurant, a gym, and a pool. The pool is higher than the gym, offering some privacy while swimming, which we appreciated. The rooftop views are breathtaking, and the staff were friendly and accommodating. There are also changing rooms, showers, and toilets by the poolside. There’s a bar where you can claim a welcome drink, but it was unmanned when we visited, and we ended up not using our voucher. We had one small issue during our stay when my Revolut platinum card, which is metal and thicker than usual cards, got stuck in the ATM. The security guard, Anjol, was incredibly helpful. He called the ATM owners, and with his assistance, we were able to retrieve the card without damage. His help was much appreciated, and management should recognize his excellent service. The attached mall has a food court where we enjoyed fruit shakes and boba tea, as well as karaoke booths, a cinema, and various shops. We really enjoyed our stay and plan to return for a longer visit to fully enjoy the...

Very nice, modern hotel in the IT park district, also known as Central Bloc. A safe area with clean streets, and many retail establishments such as restaurants, coffee shops, a supermarket, and Ayala mall with many more shops inside. The Waterfront Hotel and Casino is 3 blocks away. Easy access to other parts of Cebu city from here. I have been to Cebu many times before but not in the past 10 years. Unfortunately, traffic is now horrendous no matter what time of the day. What took 20 minutes before from the airport now takes 1 to 1.5 hours. As for the hotel, it's clean with a modern decor. Nice room with a super large bed. My reservation was for two double beds but I kept this because I love it and it's very comfy. Also a very nice bathroom on the small side but it works for me. Water pressure from the faucet and shower head is very strong and the water temperature gets very hot so I have to be careful. The air condition keeps the room cool enough so that it was comfortable but not cold as in chilly. There is not much you can do with the temperature control adjustment as most of it is restricted. I am a light sleeper and either can't sleep or easily awakened by noise so I usually turn off the A/C before I nod off. To my delight, not this one, I keep it on all night. The room is very quiet and I barely hear any outside noises. In the room is a small refrigerator (cool but barely cold enough), an electric hot water kettle, and a safe box to secure your valuables. No microwave oven, but maybe I should inquire about it. Anyway, I'm here for another 26 nights and would definitely stay here again. UPDATED 12/17/22: Today is the 17th day that I have been here. There are two money exchanges in the Ayala Central Bloc Mall. One is on the fourth floor and the other is in the Metro Supermarket, in the basement next to the pharmacy. There are also many ATM's on the outside of the mall, all within 2 blocks. The bed in the hotel room is very comfortable and I have no trouble sleeping. Two comfy bathrobes (to use but not to take home) and two pairs of slippers are also included with the room. I really like it here.

The staff are very courteous and friendly. The lobby and dining area have the best views of the IT Park’s central block as well as the bar and swimming pool area. I have availed of free room upgrade Agoda provided me and it was a condotel style. It has mini kitchen, the room is spacious and the bathroom as well. The bathroom’s hot and cold running water from the shower and sink has consistent warm temperature which is a plus for me because having been able to stay in different hotels in the past where they mostly have hard to control shower temperature, Seda has the consistency as mentioned previously. The bar at the rooftop has amazing views at night. I bet it’s as better during sunsets. However, they need to improve the taste of their Tequila Sunrise. It tasted like juice, not anything like the Tequila Sunrise. The Calamari are huge! I love it! The breakfast buffet was great! Everything I tried were delicious! The hotel is next to the Ayala Mall and the central block so everything you need is right within reach. The only downsides are: first, inconsistent housekeeping. I stayed 3 nights but only had one time when the room was attended. The second time, it was too late and I didn’t want to go out of the room and I told them, it’s all good though they asked if I want anything like water. Second is the hassle of checking in. Though I came there earlier than expected as I finished with my other activity early, early check-in is part of my booking as well, I understand that it depends on the availability of the rooms but I was not the only that was inconvenienced. Third, the TV remote control is not functional. You have to be close to the sensor on the tv itself to change channels or volume up or down. You can’t use it while on the bed. Overall, I had a very great experience and will choose this hotel again if I will ever decide to have my staycation in Cebu.

We’re a family of three (with a small child) and stayed for 2 nights in a 1-bedroom apartment. Since we were traveling light from Manila with no check-in baggage, we only had 2 duffel bags and a laptop bag. Upon arriving at the hotel's ground floor, I was surprised that there was no "concierge" on site. There was security and a guy behind the counter, but we weren’t greeted kindly. We had to open the doors ourselves and lift our bags to the lobby, even though we saw staff helping other guests with trolley bags, which was a bit odd. At the check-in counter on the 5th floor, the staff was friendly, but we didn’t feel like a priority. I asked if it was possible to get into the room earlier, since my son needed to change, but the receptionist politely declined and told us to wait until 2 pm. We went to the nearby mall, but I had to return to the hotel quickly, and overheard a conversation between the receptionist and a foreign guest. The receptionist told the foreign guest they would text him when his room was ready, but didn't offer me that option LOL That was a little disappointing. The room itself was very clean and cool, but the WIFI was incredibly slow—only running at 0.8mbps. As someone who works remotely and has stayed at various hotels, this Seda location had the slowest Wi-Fi I’ve experienced. On the positive side, the breakfast buffet and the restaurant staff were all pleasant, and the food was great, including the room service. The rooftop pool was small but well-maintained. The housekeeping staff also did a fantastic job and maintained excellent service every time I called. Would I go back? Yes, but they definitely need to improve the Wi-Fi connection since many people, myself included, are still working while on vacation. The ground floor staff could also benefit from improving their service.
