Eyeing on this one after a full day of touring around Cebu. Place seems nice on the outside and it's 24/7 but upon going in is totally a different horrible story.
Upon walking in, we were told that only take out is allowed as they're full house so we went out. The cafe is full of students, with their laptops and other customers. There is an available high stool seats for four so we thought of going back inside. When we got back in, there were super dressed and rich looking girls that came but weren't told theyre full house and we knew none of the guests went out yet by the time we went out until we came back. Not even a minute passed in between.
We hiked, looking tired, basic dressed and just here for Cebu for a few days but to be treated like that in this cafe is so unacceptable. Looking at the other reviews, I learned that we were not the only one who experienced this way. This is simply discrimination.
If theyre full house, they should be consistent in saying to all the customers not just to random guests who doesn't look "expensive"
Also, isnt a good customer service to assist customers to find seats? When we went back, four of their staff are just standing at tha back of the cashier and didnt even greet us/ asked us. We're not looking for a special treatment but THAT IS BASIC CUSTOMER SERVICE. You don't need to be in this industry to know that.
We ended up going to Bo's Coffee. Back in Manila, this is also my go to coffee shop and yes, we are treated nicely here whether you're new/regular customer OR whether you look basic...
Read moreA cafe with visible wear and tear from over the years, with the furniture and tables look rather dull and worn. The service was understandably fast, with no other orders being prepared. Ordered the White Chocolate Green Tea Franobe & Blueberry Muffin. The Franobe was not completely well blended, with a fair amount of ice nuggets still inside, with the flavor itself not being too prominent for either the white chocolate or the green tea element, with only the whip cream on top having any prominent(ly sweet) flavor. The muffin was adorably small, but for it's price, I found it rather upsetting. If there would be such a cafe that would charge four times the price on their pastries compared to other dedicated, established pastry brands with the same offerings, with regards to decency, I'd at least expect a positive distinction, be it in size, flavor, presentation, or serving. Coffee Bay delivers on none of these. Even worse, they overheated the muffin, the inside was nastily burnt, burnt hot enough that the plastic utensils I was served with melted, and deformed.
If there would be any better-than-good things to come from this cafe, it'd be in it's very accommodating dine-in arrangements. Amicable for cafe study-goers. But that'd be all.
This particular establishment is nothing noteworthy beyond that last mentioned quality. If I wanted to spend my money on a high-priced cafe, I'd find my contentment and money in other shops than this...
Read moreHappened last 2022 but wanted to post it here for awareness. Below is my message to the owner to inform her/him of the unpleasant incident.
Earlier, I accidentally spilled my friend's Franobe outside of the establishment and I went to order again. The guy who assisted me with my order heard about it and asked sarcastically.
Was told his name was Thai/Kai.
(non verbatim) Him: Did you spill your drink, maam? Me: Yes (friendly voice) Him: Was it intentional, maam? Me: Not really. When I was about to sit, I accidentally hit it with my elbow. Him: Do you have something to wipe it off? Because the building management won't allow it (or get mad) Me: Oh we dont.
With how he treated me, I felt like he was implying that I intentionally spilled my drink and that I was clumsy.
I went outside to where our table is located and breathed deeply. I know I have to speak up. I went back (inside) to the cashier area and asked about who assisted me.
He said it was him.
I told him that what he did was wrong. He was implying that I was clumsy. I was very furious. I could barely speak but at the same time tell him of how I felt about his treatment.
He said that he'll visit our table and clean it. The girl (a new hire) said shell do it. He didnt even thank her. And I dont think he ever apologized to me.
Please note: according to his colleagues that's also his attitude towards...
