Shakey's Pizza Parlor — Restaurant in Cebu City

I had my baby’s baptism reception here. We availed the party package. I expected everything to be smooth since shakeys is a well known restaurant. I have nothing to say against the food, it was good. But the service was poor. I booked the party for 4-7pm. We arrived earlier than expected because there were no traffic from the church. We waited while they were preparing. I asked if we can have the party start at 3:30pm instead, they said yes. I waited patiently, but it ended up starting at 4:15pm. The reason was their sound system was not working properly. They waited for their IT to arrive but still was not able to fix the problem. We started the program regardless of the problem. The mic was also not working well. My husband gave a speech and the guest was laughing cause it made my husband’s voice funny to hear. We had games without using the mic. The food was not served all at once. They first served the pizza and the guests were already picking it up from the buffet table. Ending that some of the guest were not able to have pizza. When I booked the event a month ago, I requested some special instructions. One of it was there should be one or two staff that serves every guest to have all food equally divided. On the day they were no one assisting the buffet area. Everyone seems so busy. Truly dissapointing :( Though they gave compensation from the unforeseen circumstances. I was very sad because it’s the very first party for my baby. I just hoped they would improve...

I am deeply disappointed by the experience we had at your establishment. Upon our arrival at approximately 12:50, we placed our food order and waited for an extended period. By 1:30, feeling incredibly hungry, we had to call a staff member to inquire about our order. To our dismay, we were informed that we would need to wait an additional 8 minutes. The situation escalated when another staff member informed us that there was no rice available, and it would take an additional 20 minutes to cook. This lack of communication was frustrating, leaving us with no choice but to change our order to exclude rice.

To add to the disappointment, while the first order arrived, the second order did not come promptly. This delay impacted our celebration, as it was my partner's birthday that day. What was supposed to be a joyous occasion turned into a frustrating experience. The portion size of the first plate was inadequate for two people, leaving us unsatisfied and hungry.

It was evident that the attention was more focused on delivery and larger groups rather than on the diners present at the store. This lack of attentiveness and service was disheartening. I am compelled to express my deep disappointment with the overall dining experience.

I urge you to make improvements to ensure the convenience and satisfaction of your diners...

A pleasant taste of home, with some twists!

The potatoes are smaller, but are still delicious. I do wish the Mojos were a bit thinner though, as they aren't quite as crispy as they are back home.

I definitely recommend trying at least a small (Mojos and dip) of the Spiced Mojos, but be warned, they're actually pretty spicy. Definitely some paprika in there.

The garlic bread is decent, but I didn't try the pasta or any other "non standard" offerings on this visit. I simply took the girls out for a taste of home, and they seemed to like it.

But it's not going to replace ChickenJoy for them anytime soon. ;)

My only feedback for the restaurant is to try slicing the Mojos a little bit thinner. Maybe call them Mojo cRRRunch or...
