At first glance, this restaurant in Gaisano Mall looks a little too upscale for a quick mall meal. But when me and my girlfriend visited during the Big Bad Wolf Book Sale and saw the food court packed to the brim, we decided to give this place a try — and what a pleasant surprise it turned out to be.
The menu is diverse — a mix of Filipino rice meals, hearty breakfasts, pasta, waffles, and coffee favorites. We ordered their Chicken Broccoli, one of their signature rice meals, and it was outstanding — perfectly cooked chicken, crisp broccoli, and those soft, buttery potatoes that tied the dish together beautifully. The Penne Bolognese followed next, rich and savory with just the right tang in the tomato sauce. Then came the sweet finale — a Cream Strawberry Waffle that was light, creamy, and comforting, like dessert straight from a Sunday morning dream. And to seal it all, a Caramel Macchiato that was both aromatic and satisfying — not too sweet, just right.
Service was decent — the staff weren’t overly chatty but polite and efficient, which worked just fine. The ambiance, though, really stands out: calm, cozy, and softly lit, with a stylish revolving door that’s oddly fascinating to look at (still wondering how they close that thing). It’s the kind of spot where you can unwind after a long day of shopping or book-hunting.
In a mall where dining options are honestly quite limited, this restaurant stands tall as the best place to eat in...
Read moreCozy ambiance, warm lighting, minimalist aesthetic - a rather common theme in coffee shops around Cebu recently. They do offer real food and meals doubling this place as a restaurant as well. As of March 3 2024, they do not have WiFi so come prepared with mobile data and make sure to occupy the seats closer to the roadside; LTE signal loss is abrupt once you go inner. They have power sockets on the long workstation tables with a view of an empty road. This is my 2nd visit to this place ordering the same thing, black coffee. Only thing I noticed is the oil floating on my coffee- probably because they use dark roast coffee beans. It tastes average, a bit watered down, and not too strong. I was expecting more because of the ₱140 price, you couldn’t help but compare it to other shops offering the same thing, the same aesthetic, and at the same price tag. Hopefully they would invest in getting a coffee expert instead of someone who plainly knows how to operate an espresso machine. Place is conducive for quiet work/reading if not crowded- music being played is instrumental light...
Read moreAt The Coffee Bar, you might expect a cozy and inviting atmosphere, perhaps with comfortable seating arrangements and ambient lighting. The aroma of freshly brewed coffee would likely greet you as you enter, along with the sound of milk frothing and coffee machines humming in the background.
Their menu would probably feature a variety of coffee options ranging from espresso-based drinks like lattes and cappuccinos to specialty brews such as pour-over and French press. For non-coffee drinkers, there would likely be a selection of teas, smoothies, and perhaps some light snacks or pastries to complement your drink.
The baristas would likely be friendly and knowledgeable about their craft, ready to recommend a drink based on your preferences or suggest something new to try.
Overall, places like The Coffee Bar in Gaisano Mall Cebu City provide not just a place to grab a drink, but a social hub where people can relax, recharge, and enjoy a moment of tranquility amidst the bustling mall...
