Location:
9/10 The location is not right next to the highway. You will have to make a turn and your destination will be on the right! đ Itâs not a difficult place to find. The location is also good because itâs next to other restaurants/bistros in case youâre interested in other dishes aside from the ones they serve in the cafe.
Their interior is simple. There wasnât too much decoration. The cafeâs name is accurate. It simply is a NEIGHBORHOOD cafe. I loved how they also made the effort to decorate as much as they did though. They curated their interior by adding the necessary furniture and accessories to establish a statementâ the ambience that they wanted to give off on their patrons.
Thereâs not a lot of seating though. If youâre going to this cafe as a group, I suggest you (a) prepare to be seated separately, (b) wait until thereâs an available seating enough for your group, (c) message their page beforehand to inquire if reservation is possible. I had no experience of this thoughâŠjust offering a suggestion.
Food and Beverages:
10/10 Their food and drinks were so good! I loved their tuna sandwich. Unlike some sandwiches Iâve had in other cafes, Neighborhood Cafeâs sandwiches donât give off that âsum-olâ feeling after a couple of bites. It was just right. Not too heavy, but definitely makes you fullâ a good thing since this was what I wanted at the time. I absolutely loved their fluffy Japanese Souffle Pancake too! The taste was just rightâ although I didnât get to finish all of it.
Staff and Service:
10/10 Their staff and service is commendable. They were patient and welcomingâ which are two very important traits in customer service (next to professionalism, of course).
Pet-friendly: Yes
PWD-Friendly: 5/10 I wouldn't say the location is absolutely PWD friendly. They can definitely seat PWD, but for someone who might be using a wheelchair or crutches, the location and the place might prove to be a bit of a challenge.
Overall, if youâre near the area, I would definitely recommend...
Read moreI had been excited to try this place, especially for the pancakes, and while the food itself was decent, especially the pizza, my experience was overshadowed by poor service.
Rude and Unprofessional Servers I'm not sure if the staff here received proper training, but one of the servers, a cashier (I didnât catch his name(He was a fair skinned wide guy wearing a face mask), was quite rude.
When my companion and I split the bill and gave two cards, the server visibly showed frustration. I let it slide, but when I asked him about the charge, he seemed annoyed again.
I accidentally spilled a small amount of water, and the same server rudely said "Hay Nako" under his breath. I apologized, but his reaction felt unnecessary. I understand mistakes happen, and cleaning up spills is part of the job. Thereâs no need for that kind of attitude.
Overall, despite the decent food, the rude service make it hard for me to recommend this place. I wonât be returning. I dont really care aout the food but the rude staff really destroyed...
Read moreI visited this café for the first time after hearing good reviews, but I was a bit disappointed with my experience.
The food and drinks were decentânothing fancy, just your standard cafĂ© fare. While I appreciate their âneighborhood cafĂ©â theme, I still expected a certain level of cleanliness. Unfortunately, the place fell short in this area. There were small cockroaches on the walls, and one even made its way to our table. The restroom was also not as clean as I would have liked. The biggest concern was the back kitchen, which was disorganized, messy, and far from meeting sanitary standards. To add, there are two aircons but it's hot inside!
I would also suggest replacing the cloth chairs. They were heavily stained and seemed unhygienic, and they appeared to be a hiding spot for the small cockroaches.
On a positive note, the service was goodâthe staff were friendly and attentive. However, cleanliness is a crucial aspect that needs...
