Do not come here if you don’t want your time to be wasted. There are better cafes on the same street with better customer service, better cost, and better vibes!! My husband and I are passionate foodies on Instagram travelling around the Philippines and we DO NOT RECOMMEND Follow Your Taste (we will be sharing this experience with all our followers to be aware of this place). We visited Follow Your Taste 2 days ago for the mango yoghurt ice cream after dinner. The ice cream was great and so was the service from one young lady at the till. We revisited today for lunch before our flight, and we were greeted with the worst customer service I have experience since being in the Philippines for the past 3 weeks. The staff are all over the place and are not attentive at all. My husband and I arrived at 12:15pm and ordered the beef burger, Hungarian sausages, and 2 Calamansi juice. The 2 juices came out quickly but the staff were back and forth after we had ordered to ask about whether the burger was Angus beef, that they only had wholemeal bread and whether this was okay, and lastly after waiting 45 MINUTES they had notified us that they didn’t have any Angus beef patties (no apologies) even though the table behind us ordered after us and was served an Angus beef burger. When 1 hour hit, we had only been served our drinks and had not been served our food. My husband went to the front and asked whether they had started cooking and they mentioned that they were yet to start cooking our dishes. We left with empty stomachs and paid for our 2 Calamansi juices (plus we still tipped) and because Follow Your Taste wasted our time, we didn’t have time to eat before our flight, meaning we had to starve until we got to our next destination at dinner time. Absolutely frustrated and disappointed with Follow Your Taste - you pay more compared to other cafes but you get worse service. Wasting our quality time and extremely rude (no sorry, no thank you, no empathy, no respect). Save yourself money and time and visit Cafe Socorro where you will be served great food and amazing...
Read moreAfter waking up at 7:00 o'clock because of loud music (again.. ) me and my hangover went out of bed to see where I could find coffee and to see where the "live band" was playing. After pinpointing the the location I walked into a little icecream shop by accident and asked if they might know where the loud music was coming from (for the people at the hostel didn't know). I got in to a conversation with the owner of the shop and she told me she was genuinely sorry for me and she didn't know about the live band. She told me about their ice cream instead and their fresh yogurt products and it's origin. She was so entousiastic and friendly I wasn't bothered about the music anymore and suddenly i realized they also had French press coffee... And breakfast. I ordered a French press coffee and I was allowed to smoke a sigaret outside over coffee and to use the wifi and I charged my cellphone. I paged my girlfriend. And we ordered eggs with bacon and my girlfriend had the yoghurt with fruit and granola. And voila! My hangover was gone and my day the that started with negative experience turned in to a smile! (and... I secretly fell in love with owner, she is the sweetest thing! 😘). The best coffee in the Philippines I had so far, fantastic yogurt and a delicious plate of bacon and eggs and real granola. If Google would allow 6 stars this place should...
Read moreOrdered takeaway breakfast including a soymilk latte (because... lactose intolerance 😅). The bread was remarkably good, the yogurt super bowl was also delicious, but unfortunately warm, with little toppings. A drizzle of honey would have been nice. I also thought it was too expensive for what it was. I've had homemade yogurt in Greece for way less.
The most unfortunate thing was that I got food poisoning from the soy latte. I thought the soymilk tasted off (it was quite sour) but since I never take my coffee with soy, I thought it was just normal so I drank it anyway. Now it's 4:30am and I'm writing this coming from the toilet from an episode of vomiting and diarrhea.
I'm giving this 2 stars overall for the nice tasting toast and the kind staff who served me my food earlier. Please check your non-dairy milk. Maybe I was served something that's been in the fridge for...
