Private room 1. Top floor. I am generally reluctant to leave negative reviews, especially for accommodations in less developed areas where challenges are more prevalent. However, during my recent stay, there were several significant shortcomings concerning two fundamental expectations: effective air conditioning and reliable running water, compounded by a lack of honest communication.

Upon arrival, we discovered that the air conditioning could not be adjusted due to the absence of a remote control. Reliable air conditioning is crucial in a warm climate, and the inability to regulate the temperature significantly impacted our comfort. If the air conditioning is set to a fixed temperature, guests should be informed upfront. If the remote has been lost, providing a new universal remote would be a simple yet crucial fix.

The plumbing under the sink was also problematic, exhibiting leaks that have been repeatedly noted in previous reviews. Rather than addressing the underlying issue, a large bucket had been placed underneath to catch the dripping water. This temporary measure, while practical, was unsightly and unhygienic and again has obviously been there a long time: Permanent solutions such as replacing the PVC bend, securing the sink tap, and fitting a new drain plug would resolve these issues and enhance guest trust.

Additionally, the inconsistency in water pressure extended beyond discomfort to practicality; the water pressure was highly inconsistent, impacting our ability to use the shower, flush the toilet, and even wash hands. During our absence, the tap, left on due to no water pressure, contributed to a room flood when the water was unexpectedly restored. This incident, exacerbated by the presence of the makeshift bucket under the sink, resulted in damage and distress upon our return. We were initially told the water supply would be restored in 30 minutes, yet it took much longer. Transparency about the expected time for repairs and a more proactive monitoring system for water levels would prevent such inconveniences and reduce guest frustration.

Moreover, the toilet seat in our room was broken, a basic issue that should have been fixed prior to any guest's arrival. Clear communication about maintenance checks and timely repairs is essential.

Lastly, the window in our room, which faces a brick wall and is covered by a curtain, could be enhanced by painting over the window and removing the curtain, thus improving the overall aesthetics of the room. An honest description of the room’s view in the booking details would help set appropriate expectations.

Although aesthetically pleasing, due to the ongoing issues, I would avoid this room if you are after a comfortable stay until they prove the issues have been fixed. If these issues were resolved and some final touches made, they might even be able to justify charging more for the private room.

While I write this review not out of dissatisfaction with the region or its people, I do hope that by providing this constructive feedback, the necessary improvements can be made. Effective maintenance and honest communication about the room’s conditions could significantly enhance the guest experience at...

There were ants allover the hostel, not a lot but some.||2 rooms per floor, 2 showers and 2 toilets; only 1 lavatory and no amenities at all (sometimes even without toilet paper).||Wi-Fi veeeeeeeery poor, only at the rooftop.||Very basic breakfast.||||I've book the tour with them and was a completely disaster:||Pick-up was suposed to be between 8:30-9:00am and they came at 8:10 (I didn't have breakfast yet), later I had to wait at the boat till 9:45am.||It was suposed to be the "super ultimate tour" wich includes 7+1 spots (1400+200PHP); from the 7 spots we didn't stop at 2 because of jellyfishes (they didn't change the spots, just skipped it) and the +1 spot we even didn't see it from far, they said it wasn't included on the tour (not only to me but to at least 6 more people on the boat).||It was suposed to be everything included and it wasn't, I had to bargain to get the snorkel stuf (without fins) and I couldn't use the kayak (1000PHP plus).||When I complaint I wasn't given a single answer, just poker faces.||||I also booked the airport transfer with them and I was waiting in the early morning for more than 45 minutes, at the end I had to leave by myself to don't miss my flight and lose all the money. I really enjoyed my stay at Michel’s Inn! The location is super convenient — right in the middle of town, so everything’s just a short walk away. There are lots of places to eat nearby like restobars, local restaurants, and even the famous ice cream and crepe shop in Coron. Jollibee and Mang Inasal are also just a few minutes’ walk. It’s also close to Mt. Tapyas, Lualhati Park, and the town tour pick-up area, which makes it perfect if you plan to explore around. Even the bars are just walking distance, so it’s easy to enjoy the nightlife too. The room was clean and comfy, the aircon was super cold (I almost woke up late for my tour 😅), and the shower had both hot and cold water which I really liked. The staff were all friendly and very accommodating — they always helped me with anything I needed. Overall, it’s a great place to stay if you want something affordable, convenient, and comfortable. I totally recommend Michel’s Inn for your Coron trip — book here and enjoy your stay like I did! ❤️

Michel Inn is conveniently located in the middle of the town proper. It’s near shops, restaurants, the public market, Lualhati Park, and is right by the street of Mt. Tapyas’ entrance. I booked a dormitory for 4 and the space between the bunk beds and lockers was not much but it would do. There are sockets and usb ports in the headboard for charging gadgets, and the bathrooms are the cleanest I’ve seen among the places I’ve stayed at in Palawan. There is a common area at the top floor where you can order breakfast and get hot/cold water. There are also private rooms in here. They also offer tours and airport transfers. Overall this is a good place to spend the night in.
