Hunter's Modern Filipino Kitchen + Bar is conveniently located at CT Drive. We visited on a weekend and the place was packed, so I was glad we had made a reservation. They allow a 15-minute holding time past the reservation and even asked us beforehand if we wanted to place advance orders so the food would be ready upon arrival. The place is on the compact side and it filled up quickly, even the bar and counter seating were occupied.
The menu has a wide variety of options, with reasonable prices and flavors that are well-balanced. I expected the dishes to lean toward the saltier side since it is Filipino-Chinese cuisine, but the seasoning was just right. We ordered bacon kawali, broccoli with beef, a siomai platter, crispy mixed mushrooms, and bok choy. Everything tasted good, but the siomai platter was a bit underwhelming. The siomai were smaller than expected and looked a little plain, and the taste was just average. The standout dishes for me were the vegetable dishes and the bacon kawali, which were both flavorful and satisfying.
Service was another highlight. The staff were attentive and seemed genuinely happy at work, which added to the warm and lively atmosphere. They accept both cash and credit...
Read moreThe food was good and priced reasonably. There were some winner dishes that i would probably order again. The reason for the low rating is the service. No parking near the restaurant, means you have to park far and walk to the restaurant. The tables inside apparently can't be moved, we were a party of 10 and they would not let us move the tables together so we can be seated together, instead, we had to be seated separately and had to move the dishes among the tables. These little things could have made the experience better.
Also, i wanted to buy their bottled products but all of them didn't have expiry dates. When i asked them if they never expire, i was told in one year, but with no production date either, how would you know? Ended up not...
Read moreHad lunch here due to my uncle’s bday. The food is so good, the bacon kawali is a good choice for your viand or appetizer, the dan dan noodles is savory. And the beef curry really is ooh soo good (although it’s a bit weird since Indians cannot eat beef.)
Only downside is it’s situated in a residential area so you gotta have a good eye to find a parking spot and a gut to park in front of someone else’s house. Other than that, it’s all good
The restaurant itself is a fusion of Chinese and Filipino cuisine as stated on their facebook page. And you won’t be disappointed should you pay this restaurant a visit. The parking might be challenge but the deliciousness will surely be worth it be once you...
