The food being cooked here just can't match the level from the older branch of Chowking near Lee Plaza. The Chao Fan is always too dry and tasteless, lacks any kind of seasoning and is almost always overcooked. It was my first time ever seeing the remaining bits of a sunny side up egg in their Chao Fan when I vaguely remembered that they're supposed to be scrambled. The Fried Chicken is barely "fried". It is somehow overcooked on the inside while the batter is almost caked onto the Chicken, similar to the way they're cooked at the Chowking's in City Mall. The Wonton Soup just tastes weird, it almost seems like it's just water mixed with MSG and nothing else, with the faint taste of pork or beef coming from the Siomai/Dumpling. A far cry from the soup bursting with flavor in the Chowking downtown.
The other items on the menu is a letdown because of the way they cook it. If you can't get the most popular and basic dish right that Chowking is known for, then what's the point in ordering the more niche items on the menu?
If I had to put into one word the way the food is cooked in this place, it would be neglected. There is absolutely no care whatsoever in the way the food is prepared. It is far too inconsistent. The only saving grace the joint has is that it has a drive through, even then, what good is that if the food isn't even worthwhile.
If you have the time, just walk further downtown and eat at the original Chowking, near Lee Plaza. There's really only two Chowking's in the whole of Negros that's good and consistent in the way they cook the menu and they're located near Lee Plaza and...
Read moreI'm writing to share some feedback about a recent visit to your store with my experience with one of your cashiers, named Anna. The complete lack of a simple "hello" or any form of acknowledgment was astonishing, and her unprofessional behavior culminated in just looking and her walking away from a customer. This incident represents a complete failure in basic customer service.
With six years of experience in customer service myself, I can confidently say this was the most unprofessional and frankly, horrible, encounter I've ever had. Fortunately, another cashier, Mary, was there to step in and assist me.
The situation was made even worse when the cashier, Anna, messaged me on my personal account to argue about her customer service rating. Her message, "dman daway ka bungol," which roughly translates to "you're not a deaf person, right?" was completely inappropriate and harassing. It's truly unacceptable that a customer has to endure this kind of behavior. Furthermore, other employees were also making negative comments just because I submitted a survey.
I strongly recommend that you provide your staff, particularly Anna, with immediate and much-needed customer service training. I appreciate the gesture of the manager who took ownership of the situation and handled it...
Read moreChowking has always held a special place in my heart—it’s more than just food, it’s a part of my childhood. Growing up, it was the go-to place for family bonding, weekend treats, and simple celebrations. Every bite of their food brings back so many warm memories.
What I love most is the familiar taste that hasn’t changed over the years. From the savory Beef Chow Fan to the comforting Lauriat meals, everything still hits the spot. And of course, I can’t forget the halo-halo—it was and still is my ultimate favorite dessert!
The combination of Chinese-inspired flavors and Filipino comfort makes Chowking unique. It's affordable, satisfying, and always feels like home. Even now, every visit brings a wave of nostalgia, reminding me of those carefree days with my family.
Thank you, Chowking, for being a constant part of my life and for making every meal feel...
