Ni ari ko kay mopalit ko og bangus because it was my mama's request. While nangitaay ko naay stall nga nag caught sa akong attention because the lady was wearing an apron from the team I supported most during the election. I got one bangus and gitimbang na nila and I asked if she could make it boneless. She said its 90 pesos because the extra 10 pesos was the fee sa pag boneless, syempre kabalo ko ana kay di lalim mag tangtang og bukog sa bangus. However, I got confused when she called the lady from last stall to do the deboning. I didnât mind because all I cared about was bringing home bangus for my mama. She told me to come back later since it would take some time, so okay I went around to buy other things.
When I came back, wala pa nasugdan og boneless ang bangus natingala ko nga wa naman unta silay gibuhat. Here comes another customer who followed up their bangus asked where her order was, and the lady pointed to the lady again from the last stall saying it was there but wala gihapon sad nahuman ila. I overheard the customer say, âKanina raman to" jusko.
I tried to understand the situation but to make things worse, the lady sa tupad nga stall aning akong gipalitan asked me to move to the vacant stall in front because I was blocking her display unya di daw siya mahalinan. Excuse me? I was just standing there waiting patiently for my bangus mura man sad og gitabunan nako ng imong tibuok stall. Ngano mag inattitude man? You could've asked nicely, ante.
I decided to cancel my order because I couldnât wait any longer and when I was about to leave she offered me a pre-cut fish for an extra fee. LOL, no!
Iâve been to the market many times, but this was the first time I had such an experience. I was left very disappointed! Unta tutukan ning...

The sheer variety of goods available is astounding â from fresh seafood glistening under the morning sun to mountains of colorful fruits and vegetables, fragrant spices, and an array of local delicacies. It's a feast for the eyes and nose!
The prices are incredibly reasonable, offering fantastic value for money. You can find incredibly fresh produce and ingredients at a fraction of the cost you'd pay in a supermarket. This makes it a great place to stock up on supplies if you're cooking your own meals.
However, the market can be quite crowded and chaotic, especially during peak hours. Navigating the narrow aisles can be a bit challenging, and the overall cleanliness could be improved. The strong smells, while adding to the atmosphere, might not appeal to everyone.
Overall, the Dumaguete Public Market is a must-visit for anyone wanting an authentic taste of local life and incredible value for their money. Just be prepared for a bit of a sensory overload and a bit...

Millet  being the main ingredient of Budbud Kabog belongs to a group of related plants that produce small pearl-like textures. Millet is low in essential amino acids and higher than most grains in fat content, 75 percent of which is heart-healthy polyunsaturated fat. Millet has been proven to be potentially beneficial in the management of diabetes. Local millet or âkabogâ grows wild in the arid and barren hills of Northern Cebu (like those In Catmon), as good as on other Visayan islands (like Negros Oriental). It is collected by hand and is quite expensive. Hence the Budbud Kabog is also quite expensive as compared to the ordinary one.
Budbud is Dumagueteâs famous delicacy that is made of sticky rice and wrapped in Banana Leaves. Another version of this delicacy is the Budbud kabog. Budbud Kabog is not the usual suman. It is made of millet  in lieu of...
