It was our first time trying Kuya J Restaurant, and honestly, the experience was disappointing. One of the staff members who took our order was very unfriendly—no customer service, no etiquette as a server, and downright rude. He/she didn’t make eye contact and seemed to be in a rush. I understand that some days can be busy and exhausting, but if you take on a job in customer service, you should at least make an effort to provide good service. Unfortunately, I didn’t catch that server’s name.
However, the bigger issue was the food. The chef that day seemed to think salt was the best ingredient because every dish we ordered was overwhelmingly salty—even the crispy eggplant and the whole chicken. It was as if the staff’s poor attitude extended to the kitchen as well.
To make things worse, there was no sense of food hygiene. We even saw cockroaches on the table and in the restroom. I was extremely disappointed and will never eat there again. I do not recommend this...
Read moreWe had early dinner at 4 pm (we hadn't had lunch so we were a bit hungry). Lots of spaces and plenty of seats as we came-in, so there's no waiting time.
However, The service is SO slow and Staffs were not attentive. There's at least 5 people behind the counter looking very busy.
We had a set meal for 2. We checked the receipt but we didn't have the meals charged for 0.00 shown on our receipt. Not sure why it's reflected there but we did not received it.
Upon billing out, I called the attention of one of the staff. Looks like she told someone else to bring the bill. We just ended up walking at the counter as no one wants to collect the bill from our table.
Love the food but no offence I dislike your service. if this is a self service restaurant, would be best to reflect that upon seating so we don't end up waiting...

I recently visited this restaurant, and unfortunately, it didn't live up to expectations. The service was incredibly slow – it took forever for our food to arrive, and it seemed like the staff were overwhelmed.
As for the food, I was really disappointed with the sinigang. It was extremely sour, to the point where it was almost inedible. I've had better versions at other places, but this one just missed the mark.
Overall, I think there's room for improvement in both the service and food quality. Wouldn't rush back...
