My family and I wanted to try a seafood restaurant outside of our resort and we came across A Mesa online. The photos, menu, and reviews all looked good, so I gave them a call and was able to book a table for 7 that same evening. Upon arrival we were pleasantly surprised by the spacious, modern interior. We were able to select our own crab, and decided to try a variety of seafood and tapas. Highlights for me personally were the shrimp in coconut curry sauce and the sliced baguette with cured ham, tomato and cheese. I also liked dipping our fried calamari (enormous portion) in the leftover curry sauce, it was just bursting with flavor. In the end, we definitely ordered too much - but I was glad to be able to sample such a wide variety of menu items. Our waitress, Strawberry, was very sweet and took excellent care of us - the entire staff was kind and attentive and also kept and eye on my young son so he wouldn't jump out of his chair while we were eating! A Mesa was the dining highlight of our trip to Cebu, and should definitely be visited by anyone looking to get away from their resort dining options and try something that's likely more delicious and affordable than anything on site. Read moreThe food was very good but they didn't have half the menu. They almost charged us for the croquetas de jamón but I'm sure it was a mistake , still they should be more careful when doing the bill. Also they get lots of customers yet they do not have enough supplies. The food was delicious but they had more Italian food than Spanish food but the Spanish food they did put was very delicious and well made. In conclusion it was good but could be much better the restaurant has a very good cook and I'm sad i didn't get to eat the food they didn't have. I recommend it if you like all European food but I don't really recommend it if you want to eat Spanish food...

Service was good although drinks/water could have come a little quicker. We visited at a quiet time and would like to try it again when busy to feel the atmosphere.
Incredibly annoying they do not accept payment by Visa/MasterCard, especially considering the premium prices. This is the only factor that would make me think twice about coming...
