The food was very good including very fresh sushi and sashimi. All our dishes were delicious. Compliments to the chef. The service, while attentive, was not very good. For example, we were not given any information about the menu or recommendations or even explained that there was a lunch menu despite being there at lunch time. We had to ask lots of questions and there was little effort to help us with the menu, explain things or interact with us. We recommend the Server provide a “menu tour” for guests and highlight some recommended dishes, point out lunch options, and provide some commentary. This would enhance your guests’ experience. Concern: One very odd and unusual practice was that they wanted to charge us 20 php for each to-go box for our leftovers. What? Why? My partner is an executive in the F&B industry and has traveled the world and managed hundreds of restaurants around the world and had never heard of an expensive fine-dining restaurant charging a fee for a to-go box. Our lunch was over 6,000 php, why would you insult your guest by telling them you are going to charge an additional 20 php for a box? It’s absurd, it’s not a practice in fine-dining anywhere in the world. You should not do this. And… he requested to speak to a manager about this but nobody came to the table to explain this practice. Ignoring our request to speak to a manager, is not only unacceptable, it’s rude and arrogant. Charging a fee for a to-go box is not acceptable by a “fine-dining” restaurant. If we are in a food court paying for cheap food, that’s understandable, but when you pay 6,000+ php for a meal, the idea of charging us 20 php more is nonsensical and insulting. You...
Read moreWe were here for a late lunch on a week day, and we were the only ones in the restaurant. Service was friendly and attentive, and the place has a real Japanese vibe. We ordered way too many items from the menu, as everything sounded so good, and we were not disappointed. They even have craft beer from Engkanto! The food was prepared well, tasted good, and was fresh. We will definitely stop by here again when next we...
Read moreThis was first time coming to the J Park location of Nonki. As always, their food and service was great. The party platter B was perfect for 4 people, and with the appetizers we had leftovers.
My only issue is that you pay for hot sake by shot or by 1.8 Liters, with nothing in between. They should really offer a price for a full mini carafe (or whatever they call it) of hot sake.
Definitely will...
