I recently dined at Buko Seaside Bar and Restaurant in Lapu-Lapu, Cebu, and it was an absolute delight from start to finish. This spot captures that perfect seaside vibe with fresh, flavorful Filipino dishes and attentive service that makes you feel right at home. #The Standout Dishes We tried a variety of items, and overall, everything hit the mark with fresh ingredients and bold flavors. Here's a quick rundown:

Sinigang Seafood: A tangy, comforting bowl packed with fresh seafood. The broth was perfectly sour and savory, making it a great starter for our group.

Calamares: Crispy on the outside, tender inside—these fried squid rings were spot-on, served with a zesty dip that added just the right kick.

Lechon Belly: Juicy and crackling with that irresistible roasted pork flavor. It's a must-try if you're craving something indulgent and authentic.

Fried Bangus: This was solid, with a nice crispy exterior and flaky fish inside. It was just good overall, though I'd note it's not boneless, so watch out for that if you're sharing with kids.

Papaya Salad: Oh man, this was perfection! Fresh, crunchy papaya mixed with just the right balance of sweet, sour, and spicy elements. Hands down the best we've tasted so far—vibrant and refreshing.

Crispy Chicken with Fried Kangkong: Another winner! The chicken was incredibly crispy yet juicy, paired beautifully with the garlicky fried kangkong. Absolutely the best version of this we've encountered—crunchy, flavorful, and addictive.

Everything we ordered felt fresh and well-prepared, with the papaya salad and crispy chicken stealing the show as our favorites. Portions were generous, and the seaside setting made it even more enjoyable, especially for a relaxed family meal.

I do not recommend this restaurant for local because I think they only cater for foreign customer only predominantly Korean or Chinese. Me and my friend had our dinner here, most of us don't have cash in hand, but we do have cards available(Debit,Gcash & Maya) that we can use for payment. However ,they only accept credit card or cash only which is not convenient at all. Given the advancement of tehncology nowadays in terms of Point of Sale (POS Machine) where in you can Tap,Swipe your card or generate code of digital bank. They only have the old POS(insert only). The food is average and service is not really good at all. The waiters were not accommodating and they even have side comments on our order. I don't like on how they assist us. Take note we are only Filipino customer at that time. At the end of our dinner we paid cash but it's very challenging given we don't have cash initially. Each of us manage to contribute our small bills and coins for us to pay our bill. Just imagine the frustation we had compare to pay it directly w/ gcash or maya or debit card. Given the inconvenience this had caused us I even approached the Cashier and asked what's the reason for them having only credit card or cash for payment. She replied because it's not updated. I told her I will leave a review for our experience here, she added please don't put bad review and they will give discount instead, I opted to No for discount. Buko Seaside Bar and Restaurant is truly an underrated gem! The ambiance, though simple, is absolutely superb—it’s located right by the seashore, giving diners a refreshing and relaxing atmosphere. The sound of the waves and the sea breeze make the dining experience even more special.

every dish we tried was exceptional! The steak was packed with flavor and cooked to perfection, the bam-i was incredibly delicious, and the sisig had a unique twist that made it stand out. The buko juice was not only refreshing but also beautifully presented, adding a fun tropical touch to the meal.

What made the experience even more memorable was the warm welcome we received upon arrival. We were greeted by a Korean national, whom I believe is the master chef, and he was incredibly kind and accommodating. His presence added a personal touch that made us feel truly valued as customers.
