Karancho Beach House — Hotel in Lapu-Lapu

THIS IS MY & MY FAMILY HOME IN CEBU PHILIPPINES. I travel to the Philippines very frequently for business and pleasure and I always stay in Karancho, I sometime take my family with me and when I go around for my business, I would leave my family in Karancho Beach resort.

The rooms are very comfortable in every way, overlooking the garden, very clean with high qualities and very quiet; bathrooms are equipped and up to international standards. The housekeeping ensures my room is always clean and the Front desk is very friendly, helpful and does their best to assist you.

It is a great place to start the morning, have your free breakfast, walk around or set and enjoy the view and the sea breeze. The beach is very clean and safe but due to the sea tide table, there may not be enough water level to swim sometimes just like all beaches around the area anyway, but during high tide the water level is very nice and safe for beach-goers and children. I understand from the staff in Karancho that the management is planning to have a healthy seawater swimming pool so that Resort’s guests can enjoy swimming in the healthy seawater at all time.

I always see Karancho management trying to keep away those locals approaching the guests for an island hopping etc, but this is really an avoidable as these locals comes from the sea side trying to make a living. Just ignore them if you are not interested. In other words, if you, your family and friends are really looking for an affordable place with facilities and beach to stay in Cebu Mactan, I would highly recommend Karancho...

Karancho Beach Resort has a little strip of beach where one can revel in the turquoise water and white sandy shore of Lapu-lapu City. And for only P80 entrance fee (weekdays), you can already enjoy a day (6AM-6PM) of dipping in clear sea water or basking in the sun. Sports and recreational activities are available in the resort too. Jetski rental is at P3,000 per hour, Banana Boat at P5,000 per hour for 8 people and Kayak at P100 per hour. Parasailing, water tubing, water skiing and waterboarding at P5,000 each. Entry to the resort is only PhP80 on weekdays and P120 on weekends for adults. Children standing 3-4 feet entrance fee is at P80 on any day of the week, while kids below 3 feet are free of charge Huts and clubhouse rentals are for as low as P800 up to P10,000, accommodating 15 guests up to 150 people. Karancho Beach Resort is one of the affordable resorts in Lapu-lapu City that offers overnight room accommodation. Room rate for  an overnight stay ranges from P1,500 to P2,500 for 2 persons, and P4,500...

We booked a private room and paid 4.3k for an overnight stay (3 pax). The room was spacious but there's a lot of mosquitoes even inside the washroom. If you're bringing your kids here, please bring a mosquito repellent lotion. I approached Ms. Receptionist at 7:30 AM since we were planning to check out early and requested for the breakfast to be served ahead of time. I was told that the breakfast will be served at 8AM. Breakfast was served late, it was served at 9AM. And this is the breakfast meal I patiently waited for an hour. 💔 (I saw a father with his kids complaining about the delay in serving breakfast too. Disappointing.) While we were preparing to check out, we were approached by a resort staff and offered a complimentary lunch because of our bad experience which we declined since we're ready to leave.
