Visited in October 2024. Philippines. Makati.

Seeking a haven for exquisite Wagyu beef, we followed the glowing reviews and found ourselves at Manila Waguy Makati. Though modest in size, the restaurant exuded a clean and bright atmosphere.

Food:

This is a yakiniku restaurant, meaning the tables feature built-in grills for a hands-on dining experience. We were excited to sample the best Wagyu cuts on offer, opting for the Kobe sirloin - one of Japan's premier brands - and the Yunesawa Chateaubriand. We also ordered a side of fried rice. While the menu photos seemed oddly unappetizing, with some dishes looking lackluster, the reality was quite the opposite. The food presented itself fresh and inviting. A menu refresh with more enticing images would be beneficial. Our server expertly grilled the meat for us, showcasing genuine culinary skill. The Kobe sirloin, though marred by a slightly chewy vein running through the center, was incredibly juicy and bursting with rich beefy flavor. The Yunesawa Chateaubriand truly stole the show. It was divine, melting in our mouths with a tender, succulent texture and a subtle sweetness. If you get the chance, absolutely try it. The fried rice, though good, could have benefitted from a crispier, more caramelized finish. Yet, it still surpassed our expectations as a side dish.

Service:

The service was prompt and attentive, with our server providing valuable guidance on the Wagyu cuts and expertly grilling our steaks to perfection.

Conclusion:

While the quality of the Wagyu was undeniable, we were disappointed to discover several menu items unavailable. Additionally, the limited selection of sake and other alcoholic beverages – just a handful of uninspired options – was a letdown. Despite these minor shortcomings, we enjoyed a pleasant evening. Nevertheless, with a few tweaks, this restaurant could easily become a true gem for Wagyu...

I am thrilled to rate my experience at Wagyu Manila Makati a perfect 5 out of 5! My family and I, along with our staff, had an absolutely unforgettable culinary experience. From the moment we arrived, the entire atmosphere was welcoming, and the level of service was truly exceptional. The food was simply magnificent – every dish was an exquisite delight, and as promised, the A5 Wagyu beef is nothing short of spectacular. It’s clear that Wagyu Manila lives up to its reputation for serving the finest beef, with every bite leaving us in awe.

A special thank you to Miss P, the owner, whose warmth and hospitality made our visit even more memorable. Despite how busy the restaurant was, she took the time to personally accommodate us through her staff, and we truly appreciated that personal touch. Your efforts made us feel like part of the Wagyu Manila family, and we already miss the experience!

We wholeheartedly recommend Wagyu Manila to anyone seeking a top-tier Japanese dining experience in Makati. With exceptional food, incredible service, and an atmosphere that makes you feel right at home, it’s a place we’ll definitely be returning to.

Thank you again, Miss P, for making our visit so special. We can’t wait...

Loved the food! The service was excellent — very attentive, friendly, and efficient. They also have a parking slot, which is super convenient. Just a heads-up: be cautious when following Waze directions, as it can be a bit tricky getting there. The interiors are a little dated, but honestly, the warm service and great food more than made up for it.

We ordered the wagyu and got a table grill so we could cook the meat to our liking — such a fun and personalized touch. The prime cuts were tender, flavorful, and cooked perfectly just the way we wanted. The menu has lots of options, and everything is reasonably priced given the quality of the meat and the overall experience. Whether you’re a wagyu lover or just curious to try, it’s definitely worth a visit. Would...
