recently visited Legazpi Park hoping for a relaxing and fun outdoor experience, but honestly, it left me feeling more frustrated than refreshed. On the surface, the park seems decent—it has a good amount of open space, some trees, and benches. It’s the kind of place you’d expect to be able to walk around freely, enjoy the fresh air, maybe do a light activity or two, and just chill. But that’s not quite how it went.

The first thing I noticed was how the atmosphere felt a little… off. It wasn’t busy, which could be a good thing, but the energy just didn’t feel very welcoming. I brought along a badminton set thinking it’d be fun to play casually in a corner of the vacant area—nothing disruptive or intense, just a light rally. But almost immediately, a guard came over and told us it wasn’t allowed. No explanation, no alternative suggestion, just a flat “not allowed.” It wasn’t like we were trying to set up a full-on tournament either—just two people hitting a shuttlecock around in an empty space.

Okay, fine. Rules are rules, I guess. But then I noticed the guards being unusually watchful and kind of intense. Just standing around, scanning the area like they were expecting trouble. At one point, while I was simply looking around to take in the layout of the park and find a better spot to hang out, one of the guards came up and asked what I was looking for—as if I was doing something suspicious. That sort of interaction just makes you feel uncomfortable for no reason.

Throughout the visit, the general theme seemed to be: “Not allowed.” It’s like the default setting there. Want to sit here? Not allowed. Want to move over there? Not allowed. It’s a park, not a restricted facility—so why does it feel like you’re walking on eggshells the whole time?

Overall, Legazpi Park has potential as a small green escape in the city, but the overly strict and slightly unfriendly environment really kills the vibe. Parks are supposed to be relaxing, safe, and open places for the community to enjoy. Unfortunately, this one felt more like a “look but don’t touch” exhibit. If you’re just planning to sit quietly, maybe read a book and not move too much, you’ll be fine. But if you’re looking for a place to breathe freely, get a bit active, or just not feel watched the entire time, you might want to...

With resting areas supplemented with benches that are placed at several places and around the trees even and a long pathways of seating in concrete with light decoration where we can sit and rest

This park though intended to benefit by exercise and running.. since in the middle of the city and surrounded by heavy traffic, I highly suspect the increased respiratory rate while exercising with that polluted air around you. It would’ve been appreciated if it was far away and not surrounded by traffic and air pollution- the urbanization can’t help

This place has facilities for public comfort rooms for both makes and females And a drinking water fountain next this comfort rooms

The running 🏃🏻‍♀️ 🏃 tracks are well lit and graded from start to stop with calibrations at each pace
