The rooms are old.

The walls and bathtub are very chapped and crusty.

The shower flow is terrible.

The hot water is lukewarm at best.

The shower head and towel rack are way too high – it's horrible for short people to reach both.

The air conditioner is ridiculously noisy, and limits what you can do on it.

Breakfast is bland at best.

WiFi speeds are appalling and connectivity is a serious issue.

No hair dryer provided in the room.

Slippers are of extremely poor quality. They rip too easily.

Perhaps have safety bars / barriers for the windows as well?

Now, I will mention that it has a beautiful timeless charm to it. But that's it really. It also mainly caters to Japanese business travellers, so keep that in mind. Everything else is just okay at best, and you're better off taking your money elsewhere. Besides the vintage charm of the place, nothing else is great. If you still want to support Herald Suites, I would recommend the Herald Suites Polaris. In any case, both hotels have wonderful staff.

I had booked here on Booking(.)com and paid for a Superior King Room. However, the images on shown are that of the Deluxe King Room. I booked based on the beautiful images I saw. Upon checking-in and going into my room, I realised that it is completely different to what I paid for online. I spoke to the front desk staff about it and noted that they probably gave me a wrong room. They were also confused as to why the images don't align with the description. At first they fought it and tried to blow it out of proportion. I politely told them that it's not my problem they made a mistake with the listing. I requested to speak to the manager and eventually the issue got resolved. So, that already just give them a big thumbs...

The place looked really nice and clean, we were upgraded to a deluxe room and it was very spacious. The toilet was really clean with a japanese style toilet where you can press buttons to control the temp and pressure of the water that squirts in cleaning your bum, additionally there was also a bidet. The staff at the front door were very accommodating and helpful. Our booking came with a free breakfast and it was good. There were different options, from filipino, america, continental usw. There were plenty of japanese restaurants near the hotel as the area seemed to be an area where japanese tourists frequent, a 7/11 just across the road and an atm machine next to it maked it's location good.

Negative points Wifi was choppy, i endes up using my data instead of the wifi because it was such a pain to constantly connect. Considering this place is in makati, i dont understand why they have an awful wifi

As mentioned by someone here, the shower was fixed so if you want to have a half bath and not wet your hair or something, you'll have to do some maneuvering. Bath tub was a little bit chapped, it looked dated in contrast to the nice Japanese toilet. Water takes long to warm also.

Aircon was placed on the side of the bed so it hits you directly which is not very comfortable, we have to put the chair to block the direct...

I worked hard the whole week thinking I could have a relaxing wkend at home, but an ignored memo from our condo admin re a power interruption fr 9pm fri to 9pm sat sent us packing at 1am sat. Herald Suites was nearby and accomodated us w a promo rate of $55 for a 10 hour stay w breakfast in one of their standard rooms. It was a beautiful room, huge tv, huge closet, complete coffee and good enough mini bar. Complete bath accessories w wash ball included. What really struck us was their reception area. It was really elegant, spanish themed, gracious front desk, had to mention that cos I was a bit nasty already w the relaxing weekend still not happening. But she was nice, as w the guard and doorman. Yes they have a complete staff too. Its really home away fr a nearby home, and w a regular rate of $130 its pretty not bad. If we were walk ins at a witching hour and got fabulous promo rates, imagine their regular promo rates. I always walk past this nice looking hotel, never imagining this experience would be like this and typing this up w my complimentary coffee in a hot tub smoking my marlboro lights and thanking all the other overbooked hotels in our area for leading us here. Will submit more room photos in a bit, just cant get out of the...

Stayed here last weekend all i can say is that their service is really really great! 😊 Advantages -Price per night is cheap given the fact that it is in the Makati Business District Area -Near at Restaurants, Convenience Stores, Malls, Public Transportation, Hospital and etc. -Amenities are good! With toiletries, cold and hot shower, tv, wi-fi and etc. They have swimming pool too with amazing view! 😊🤘 -Front Desk Officers are very welcoming and approachable! Talked to Ms. Chiqui via email and she quickly responded to my request. -Allowed early check-in, 1pm! 😊💗 - Staff can speak Japanese, Tagalog and English Disadvantages -Improve your breakfast. Have atleast 3-5 choices of meals since it is ala carte 😅 But the breakfast is really good tbh ❤️ -Repair your rooms, conduct preventive maintenance on your fixtures. Check you floor, some tiles are detached already. 😊 -Conduct cleaning inspection on your rooms esp. the lampshade and other sides of the room. Although i understand that the hotel is a bit old, you just need to maintain the cleanliness and orderliness of the hotel. Overall experience, i will rate the hotel 4.5/5 😊💗 Thank you for service, Herald Suites!

I had the pleasure of staying in this hotel which I would say is a boutique hotel. The hotel is situated in the region of Makati surrounded by lots of Japanese restaurants. I learnt that there are a huge number of Japanese visitors and communities living around this hotel. The hotel is good as per its budget and offers good amenities. The entire hotel gives a very ancient vibe. The staff member at the gate wears a very cool hat and always greets you whenever you enter, plus points for that. I think the only sad part for me was the breakfast as I'm so used to having a buffet breakfast the breakfast here is a la carte. Options had more Japanese style breakfast so I guess the hotel is more suited for Japanese. The rooms also come with a toilet and bathtub like Japanese style. Indeed the toilet reminded me of my visit to Tokyo this year.
