⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5
Went to the place around 3pm and there were already groups of customers eating and drinking alcohol. It wasn’t super noisy though and no one was drunk, which was good.
I ordered the Special Pares worth 170 pesos (rice included). The Special Pares as compared to the Regular Pares (worth 120 pesos) has an egg, tofus and bits of veggies. Tastewise, the pares was good and fulfilling. I couldn’t even finish the bowl and had it packed (refer to hand comparison photo). Plus, there were no additional fee for the take out.
I do have a beef with the “beef” in the pares. It is soft but not too soft and chewy as I would love to. Also, the rice is mid. I am particular abt the rice as it is a staple in all of my meal but their rice is dry. It wasn’t the worst as I have tasted plastic-feel rice from other stores, but it can be leaning towards it.
The store is also self-service. So, the staff would give you a number and if the food’s ready, the no. will be called out for you to get it. The waiting time also depends on the type you order. Since I ordered pares, I got to be first than the other people who were there before me. However, waiting time does not take a long time.
Overall, I did enjoy the meal and I am looking forward to go back and try the other...
Read morePares point has been there for years. It started as a small eatery under a makeshift roof years ago to a full fledged open air self service restaurant it is today. It is a no frills place that might turn off the discerning person but looking past the self service ice box, not so tidy food trays, and non matching dishes, it offers comfort Filipino food like no other dining place similar to it. The quality of the food is surprising, the crunchy bagnet, the always sold out barbecue, and of course the Pares. Pares is basically beef or meat stew that is paired with rice. Unlike other pares, this one is not too sweet and the star anise flavor is not too strong. It is highly recommended to try it, I suggest the regular over the special at first and order the tapa as they go well together. The place as mentioned is ok clean. It's close to "Street food clean" if there is such a term. The service is fast and quick. Despite the heavy flow of people, the crew maintains the right level of politeness, efficiency, and service that makes this place special. It is open 24 hours and because of that, it attracts everyone from office workers, to late night party people to call...
Read moremy experience is not good in this restaurant. I ate together with my foreigner friends and they also not satisfied. Very long time to prepare. And when they serve after a long time, the food is not hot. They already serve all the orders of my friends but my order has not come yet. My order was only penne pasta with chicken . when the pasta came , it looks like a dog food ! I just forget to take photo of this because Im very bad mood! The macaroni pasta mas smashed like you cannot see anymore the pasta mixed with a lot of sauce so they can cover up the smashed pasta!! The chicken was also burned to hell !! I just refunded and cancel my order! they refunded it but also so long time before to refund. And they dont even apologized! lol waste of time to eat here. First time in my life I was served a pasta that was smashed so hard like a dog food!...
