THIS REVIEW IS FOR THE VALERO BRANCH. We were a group of 14 who arrived for lunch, we intended to be there before the lunch rush so as to make sure we're all fed by the time the rush was in full swing. The service was really slow, moving at a snail's pace. The waiter, who we thought was writing down our orders, apparently forgot to give some of the orders to the kitchen staff, resulting in us waiting for more than an hour for all the orders to be completed. Until our lunch hour was up, it resorted to 2 of us going into the kitchen itself to find out they didn't get the orders. And to top it off the staff present did not have a clue what to do, and resorted to avoiding our follow ups. Even in the end Whistlestop Makati still gave us a hard time with billing out, we calculated the bill ourselves, including the VAT and service charge, and left it on the counter for them to pick up on their most convenient time. They were never prepared to serve lunch, staff lacked training, Menu had too many food items (suggesting they had inventory on all the ingredients), kitchen was too small for the dining area and the service quality was just really bad. We're just going to charge this to experience and steer clear from this...

Me and my fiancé often go here for both their crispy dinuguan and sinigang. But more often than not, the servers would always confuse our order of "crispy dinuguan" with their "crispy binagoongan" and serve the latter - which will result to a longer waiting time! Today for example, they've confused our order AGAIN. They served our sinigang and the "crispy binagoongan" variant, so they had to get back to the kitchen for the "crispy dinuguan"! We have already finished eating our sinigang and have been waiting for the "crispy dinuguan" for ALMOST 1 HOUR already. Imagine the frustration of not being able to eat the food you ordered at the same time, especially if you're hungry. It's a very disappointing experience na mabitin every single time their waiters get our "crispy dinuguan" order wrong for "crispy binagoongan". For reference here's a picture of our empty sinigang bowl and finished rice AND the crispy dinuguan that they have just served almost an hour later! Upper management should train their waiters to ensure order is correct especially if they have dishes of same variants like the "crispy binagoongan" and...

Ambience: It was my first time going to any of their branches and parking seemed limited at first. Good thing we managed to park in front of their neighboring establishment (probably because it was very late already). Restaurant was really crowded and full of life. It's been awhile since I've been around crowds that lively.

Chicken Arroz Caldo: Comfort food! It's not my favorite pricing for arroz caldo but it was acceptable for the venue. It was very hot and relaxing for a slightly itchy throat.

Whistlestopper: It's basically a bacon cheeseburger with egg and fries. Life of this burger lies within the really tasty bacon, bacon, Bacon! Batter was fine too. Overall shape was a bit big and all over the place, resulting to me cutting them up with fork and knife, burger rules shattered. Fries were actually nice as well so good thing we also had a solo order for it.

Service: Surprisingly, the arroz caldo arrived last. This can be challenging if your friends are the type that wait til everyone has their order on the table. We did otherwise since we were...

5 nights ago: Quality of food/drinks & service have really declined. 5 months ago: Sunday breakfast with family. We came in as second group & requested the airconditioned room. Food were delish - bagoong rice, adobong pusit & baboy sa pinya, honey bourbon, dinuguan & chicharong bulaklak. Adobong pusit & baboy for the win, but I wish they'll add more squid. Dinuguan still good after all these years. Chicharon bulaklak was a big fail, serving was too small, so different from the pic on the menu & worst, not crunchy. Service was a bit slow considering only two tables were occupied. Lots of dishes were also not available. We were lucky we got a parking slot.

As long-time fans of Whistlestop (Alabang and BGC branch- back in the day, when it was still open in Fort Strip!), we decided to try their Jupiter, branch. It definitely delivers that same familiar, comfy vibe that's perfect for a casual night of catching up with friends over a couple of bottles and some good "kwentuhan." While the atmosphere is on point for relaxed hangouts, the food is where things fall a bit flat. It's not bad, but it's not exactly memorable either. One thing we noticed is that weekdays offer a much more chill experience compared to the Friday-Saturday crowd. If you're looking for a quieter setting, avoid the weekend rush.
