Been to this place several times over the last year. It is a venue where everyone is relaxed and having fun. Lots of food choices, seafoods, BBQ, Filipino, lechon, deserts and some other surprises. Inexpensive bar with specials on buckets of beer. Live bands and other entertainment, but I'm not sure if entertainment is everyday, Fri, Sat and Sun for sure. Everything is affordable. All under a huge tent. If taking a cab, A. Venue Hotel would be your destination. Dress casual, no AC, have a beer or a fresh bucco, or smoothie. Do tip the bands and be ready to make requests. It looks like the entertaining is paid by your tips. Great people watching with a mix of customers from around the world. I'll be going again. Finally I am under impression it is an evening venue, from 6 PM on as I have only gone in the evenings. Good for dates, groups, but not so much for young kids, unless to eat and run. If tables look full, ask to share a table, make a new friend, it is that kind of place. There are also vendors selling boutique clothes and items, all under the same...
Read moreHott Asia Bazaar has a lot of things going for it, and only a couple of minor things going against it. First, it's the only true "night market" in Makati, to the best of my knowledge. There's food, booze, live music, some clothing vendors, and a generally lively atmosphere. Prices are affordable and the tables are kept fairly clean. It's a great place for tourists and locals alike. I stop by for a beer or two on a very regular basis.
The drawbacks would be: (1) The changeable and sometimes weak selection of food options. Vendors seem to come and go, although some have been there from the beginning. (2) With the recent closure of A. Venue mall across the lane, the facility lacks a restroom facility. Organizers recently brought in some porta-potties, but there's no place to wash your hands and face after a plate of pancit or whatever. Used to be able to pop over to the mall and wash up.
Although there are a couple of places nearby with a similar "market" feel (The Pallet, The Social, Playing), Hot Asia is the biggest and...
Read moreMy wife and I used to frequent this place before the pandemic, however, it's not the same anymore. Our favourite lechon stall is no longer here. There are also less shops compared before. The food, at least is still good. My favourite is still the beef noodle, still the same, still good.
Live bands on Wednesdays and weekends. Perhaps in a few months this will be lively again, hopefully. If I'm going out with friends for a drink, I'd still recommend this place. If you wanted to chill, either with friends or yourself, it's a good...
