The incredible cafe design, the delicious cake and coffee, the outstanding personnel. I simply have no greater words of praise at my immediate command for Cafe Intramuros.
The place exudes the old-world charm which Intramuros is known for. As part of the block of Casa Manila/Plaza San Luis, the exterior and interior architecture and design of Cafe Intramuros teleport those who dine here to the time when Filipinos were not allowed to own houses and live within the Walled City. The quaint facade, the two-feet thick walls, the large windows that offer a view of the magnificent San Agustin Church just across the street, the chandeliers, and everything else make this cafe a mandatory place to visit, especially for people with more than above average sense of history, sophistication, and the sublimity.
On top of a great cake and coffee selection to choose from, the service staff were simply awesome. The staff at the counter was very accommodating and was so fantastic in helping me choose what cake to order and what coffee went well with the cake that she recommended. Even the kitchen and backroom staff smiled at me when they caught me looking at them. When the dine-in coffee I ordered was placed in a "to-go" cup, I jokingly commented that I kinda thought that the coffee would be in a cup and saucer. The apology which followed was profuse, and the cup and saucer they used for my coffee was mind-blowingly regal and expensive-looking that it made me feel that I was drinking from the Hermes cup and saucer that I was gifted once. I was informed that the one I used were, in fact, one of only three that the Cafe has.
MIND-BLOWING SERVICE AND MAKING THE CUSTOMER FEEL SO VERY SPECIAL.
Cafe Intramuros is one of those places which must be visited... to be a cut above the mediocre and definitely...
Read moreWe had our hearts set on this location for our event—it wasn’t just a preference, it was the place we envisioned from the very beginning. After doing our research and exploring other options, we kept coming back to this venue because it seemed like the perfect fit. We reached out to the staff to start the booking process, and they even confirmed that the date we wanted was completely open—no one else had reserved it. That gave us hope and made us feel like we were on the right track.
But from that point on, everything just stalled. We kept asking for confirmation, for some kind of clear, definitive answer, but the staff seemed evasive or uncertain at every turn. One person would say they’d get back to us, another would redirect us somewhere else, and ultimately no one gave us a straightforward yes or no. We weren’t asking for anything complicated—just a simple confirmation so we could move forward with our plans.
It was deeply frustrating. We were fully ready to commit. We weren’t shopping around anymore. This was the only venue we wanted. And yet, the lack of communication and unwillingness to make a decision left us in a kind of limbo. It felt like we were chasing something that should’ve been easy, but instead became a drawn-out and confusing process.
It’s such a shame because the place itself is beautiful and held so much potential. But in the end, we had to walk away—not because we wanted to, but because the staff made it impossible to proceed. We’re disappointed and honestly disheartened by...
Read moreAfter I attend the mass at manila cathedral, I visit the San Agustin Church and planned to look for a place to eat. They have a very good location for a cafe and the theme of the interior is complimentary with Intramuros. The food that I consume was good thus the manggo cheese cake has suttle taste of manggo but not what I expect, the jelly like or gummy consistency of the manggo is a little bit off. Understanding that they want to accomodate more costumers and arrange the table to the maximum possible occupants thus you will observe thay there are no proper walk way for people to mobilize. My experience in the cafe is okay, thus in peak hours you need to reserve your place before ordering or better you have companion you need to reserve the seat while ordering. I was a bit sad because I thought I can charge my phone at the cafe thus there are no plugs working at the cafe. I tried to ask the staff thus they responded that all of plugs are full. I need to charge because after that i need to go to NAIA for my flight and I am afraid to travel with an draining battery. Eventhough there are available extension wire I just dont insist because i undestand that they dont want to have fast table turnout... Considering the maximum table arragement the place will be noisy and busy... The Hot Chocolate is a taste typical ready and commercialized choco standars. Not recommended for...
