Tried to visit this museum on a weekday (22nd of May 2024) as we (5 people) wanted to view the beautiful Spanish & Catholic historical treasures inside but was told that it is only open on the weekend except if you have at least ten people then you can have a pre-arranged viewing on a weekday. What kind of museum, especially one as historically important as this one, only opens on the weekends? That is absolutely ridiculous! Is the management of this museum not aware that tourists, especially international ones are visiting Intramuros pretty much every day of the week including weekdays? Either way, they're not very bright nor competent or are they just plain lazy? It's a government run museum and they have staff still working there on the payroll even when it is closed as I spoke to one of them at the entrance, a young lady who was very nice though but just following management orders.
We ended up visiting the Casa Manila museum house that day instead which was open and we got a complementary tour guide as part of the standard entry ticket. That museum would probably get less patronage during the week than the Museum de Intramuros would - if it were open - so they have no excuse.
The major museums in Cebu City are open most days of the week except Sundays as...

Another place that we should be proud of as Filipinos because it only shows to prove our rich history and colorful culture.
The place is fully air conditioned and the curation is quite satisfying. Mostly religious artifacts are on display but there are also some remembrances from history, pre and post WWII.
An impressive art piece hangs on the middle of everything. The art piece represents a galleon and the meaning is very mind stirring.
A part if this museum occupies a part of an old church (San Ignacio) so you can only imagine how displays were arranged.
A somewhat high spiral staircase stands beside a very amazing tall retablo. You may use it or you can also opt for elevators (yes, they are equipped with such). The view from the top can be very exhilarating, it is worth the climb!
Don’t just go because you have nothing to do, tired of malls or avoiding the MMFF entries! Go and visit because you are proud to...

Place is comprised mostly of religious statues dating centuries old from different parts of the country. A few relics and a photo exhibit at the topmost floor. For the entrance fee worth your money I guess.
Just a heads up taking photos and videos are allowed as long as you use your phone, we weren't informed prior to entering so I brought a film cam and action cam unknowingly and was asked (kindly? while having this gotcha face) to leave it in the entrance by the baggage area. I didn't appreciate the male guard accusing me of purposefully hiding the cameras which is impossible given the length of the selfie stick itself and the film cam dangling on my wrist, definitely off-putting. Personally what's inside the museum isn't worth of going...
