We are very excited to try King Chef as we heard alot of good things about the restaurant. However, before we even tried the food/restaurant we had the worst experience already that we didn't expect. We are 7 people with 2 toddlers. When we arrived, we asked for a table and they offered us combined tables. I requested to sit on the couch as it is more comfortable for us and kids too. The staff who welcomed us seems not very interested to assist or accommodate our request. After insisting to seat on our preferred area they still seemed not very happy with us. The restaurant is not full at all so I don't understand why they cant be flexible with our request even we have kids and senior citizen with us. Just to give them another chance, my husband asked one staff (lady who wears different uniform) to just add one chair on the head. And we still received a very not welcoming attitude. While the lady is placing the chair, she still says something that is not appropriate at all. We are just wearing a very casual clothes compare to other customers. We felt that they are just choosing customersa nd judge you base on what you wear. Being based in Dubai working in hospitality industry, I never imagined that I will experience this kind of treatment. As we dont feel comfortable anymore, we decided to leave the venue and find another place.
I had a high expectation from your restaurant but got equally frustrated. I would really appreciate it if you could take proper action about this inconvenience in the future
I hope you can empathize with my situation and will take the necessary actions . My intention is not to receive any type of compensation for the unwanted customer service from ur crew. I would be really happy to see that the corrective measures are taken with priority to eradicate any further similar occurrence which will be detrimental to the goodwill that you have earned by relentless hard work over the years.
I am looking forward to seeing the improvement implemented by you soon.
So far the best asian restaurant we tried here in the Philippines are Shi lin, our 2nd place is Lugang Cafe and 3rd Din tai Fung.
Thank you Shi Lin for accomodating us and being flexible to...

One of the worst Chinese restos in the metro.
First things first. The staff were nice, but we go to restos to eat, and food should be the priority of any resto review.
Their YangChow was served cold. It was embarassingly bad. Imagine day-old rice from the fridge, mixed with some veggies and meat, then heated in a microwave at a wrong temp and duration. That’s how bad it was which was apparent because everything was cold and all the ingredients tasted raw—evidence that it wasn’t given enough time to allow the flavors to infuse into one coherent tasting dish. It was so sad.
To add to that, they served everything in bad time, specially the sweet and sour pork which they served 30+ minutes after everything else was served—broccoli, hakaw, sharksfin, yangchow and the drinks. When it finally came, it was underwhelming because of the overwhelming tanginess of it. Again, the ingredients didnt come together at all. It tasted like too much vinegar was accidentally poured and they tried to fix it by adding more sugar to even the taste. It was sad.
To be fair, some of our other selections were not bad but when your rice and your main taste poor, it destroys the entire experience.
So nope, not a Chinese resto worth trying.
Oh, and I almost forgot, their tables smell like they were cleaned with rugs that were not washed and...

First off, the braised beef noodles were really good. Not too salty, and the beef flavor was on point. I was hoping for that deep, beefy kick in the soup itself—didn’t quite get it—but it was still satisfying, especially with a spoonful of their in-house chili sauce. That stuff really brings it together.
The stir-fried beef hofan was also good. The noodles had that nice chew, and every bite carried a subtle beefy tone that I kept coming back to. Beef was tender, too—no complaints there at all.
The siopao is just okay. Not bad, but nothing mind-blowing. What did stand out was the hoisin sauce. That siopao hoisin sauce might just be the best I’ve had—sweet, savory, and it made the whole thing feel more intentional.
Service-wise, it’s pretty standard. Waiters were punctual and responsive. Nothing fancy, but not lacking either.
One thing I still don’t get is, why no water on the table by default? Do diners really have to ask every time? A simple jar of water would’ve made things more convenient. Not a dealbreaker, just one of those small things that makes you go, “why not?”
Overall, I’d definitely come back. Solid food, good service, and a few standout flavors that make it worth a...
