We really liked this place and went there for the delicious puffs and coffee/tea and also one day for lunch. There are some points to improve though. Several days they didn't have hot coffee, though it is on the menu. The staff is friendly, but also shy, and the service seems slow. We got a bit frustrated after waiting for our food for 30 minutes. When I asked about it, it came right after but the pork barbecue was cold, probably because the chicken had taken longer to prepare. If they had only told us it would take that long, it would have been okay, we could have asked to get the palabok and the pork first, we didn't have to get everything at once as we were sharing, especially not if the food gets cold waiting for the other part of the dish. So mostly I think it is about communication and taking responsibility for the experience, and I hope this constructive feedback can make a change. Because when it arrived, the food was very good, but then you don't appreciate it as much because of the...

[February 2024] Had a brief business lunch here with my Sales & Marketing team and we all liked the food, service and ambience of Catalina's Bakeshop & Cafe. Nice, cozy, nostalgic interiors with champagne green walls and dark brown wood accents and ceiling fans. Service was fast and attentive, and the food tasted...right. I especially liked the Boneless Chicken Quarters and Pork Barbecue which reminded me of Aristocrat's Chicken Barbecue with its distinctive peanut sauce. A nice touch was the added pickled green mango. The Bicol Express hit different but I guess it was because we requested it to be non-spicy, so of course they took away all the green chillies. When I asked if I can have them on the side, they obliged and it really complemented, or more accurately -- counteracted, the oiliness of the pork fat. To top it all off, we had their signature buko puff and it was the perfect dessert to go with their coffee. Will...

The place is spacious with a cozy, welcoming ambiance. It’s a nice spot to relax, and the food is truly exceptional—especially the buko pie and pandesal, which were both fresh and flavorful. Their coffee is also worth coming back for. That said, I was really disappointed with the service. I visited during off-peak hours, and although there were several staff members behind the counter, my simple order—just coffee, buko pie, and pandesal—took an unusually long time to arrive. It was frustrating and honestly soured the experience a bit. Afterward, I checked some reviews online and noticed I’m not alone—others have also pointed out inefficiencies in the staff’s service. I really hope they work on this, because the food and space have so much potential.

6.15.25 2pm. We dined in and bought pasalubong. Palabok-generous serving, needs patis and other spices, 1 puffs box; all 7 flavors 3 boxes- are just ok! Ordered coffee, ckn bbq and tapsi and pancit but the last 2 didn't arrive at all... Service was disorganized, unsmiling (except for the male crew), slow ( took almost an hour to serve and the food were not freshly made at all, Palabok not even hot), incomplete (ordered tapa and pancit that were not served because they weren't captured by the waitress who even repeated our order) and inaccurate (ordered 8 oz coffee but 12oz was served, we just let it be, tagal eh). The crew might be tired already, i know, tao lang naman. Looked like there was no captain at all...
