I wasn't sure if I was going to leave this review, as most things were very good. But in the end I thought I should give future visitors a heads-up as they may have spent a lot of time and money to come visit.

I will start with the good things as we mostly did enjoy our stay here. The staff were very helpful and friendly and offered good advice on what to do around the place, we found the restaurant food excellent and the rooms spacious with good showers.

The major problem we had with the place though was it's location - specifically the neighbour backing onto our room. They not only had a continuously barking dog, but also a rooster that quite clearly could not tell the time and would crow all through the day and night. I raised this with reception the next morning who were already well aware of the problem. The manager approached us later and apologised, and said they have already spoken to the neighbour but there isn't much they can do. And that is completely fair, it's very unfortunate and I am not sure what the solution is. But we essentially ended up getting very little sleep over the 4 nights we stayed which is why I have left this review. We did go and buy ear plugs for the remaining 3 nights but the rooster in particular was so loud that they didn't really help.

Another note, we were told upon arriving to our room that may we have to stand outside if we want to get wifi. We had to actually wander a bit further down towards reception to get signal, so we ended up just buying a sim plan from Airalo for US$13 which...

We recently booked Hibiscus Garden for a meeting of 18 people, initially informed us of a ₱1,000 consumable fee for food and drinks for 4 hours. However, upon arrival, their staff changed terms, requiring ₱700/pax for exclusive aircon area use. But, the FO offered us to use the same area provided that we allow other customers to join in.

We agreed to use the aircon area and allow other customers to join. We ordered more than the required terms. After more than an hour we were called by the Restaurant Supervisor and Front Office staff in a high pitched voice and an unpleasant facial expression (RS) questioned us over using a projector, which we cleared with the bar staff beforehand.

The supervisor insisted on additional charges, contradicting our initial agreement. Poor communication and unprofessional behavior tarnished our experience.

Positives:

Delicious food Kind bar staff

Negatives:

Misleading pricing Unprofessional staff Poor customer service

Until they improve hospitality, I regretfully say: No to...

Last summer was my first time in Puerto Princesa and I loved it - partly because of the help of the kind staff here. Especially as a solo traveler, it really helps to have people guide you and care for you!

Before I even flew to the Philippines, I emailed them to arrange for an airport transfer. Krizza was very prompt in replying and everything was smooth sailing. The driver was nice & kind (I'm sorry I forgot his name). Then when I first arrived, Ailene helped me with my luggages and explained how to get a SIM card. She even went to the store and bought one for me. Then in one of the days, I got a cut on my foot from the beach and one of their staff, Lovely, helped me and put some bandage on it. There was another time when I almost overslept with my alarm for a tour that I signed up for. I got a reminder from one of the front desk and told the tour operator to wait for me. They are great at anticipating your needs and catering to it.

Everyone is so kind and friendly. Would...

This place is a heaven! We spent 10 nights at Hibiscus Garden Inn as a family of 4 with 2 young children. The place is well-maintained and very well-managed, the staff is polite, kind and very accomodating (Especially Krizzia, Arlene and Anna). The atmosphere is cosy, the grounds are beautiful and the rooms are very clean, spacious and comfortable. The restaurant is open from 6am which is great when you have children who are early risers! The food there is delicious and the menu is diversified (especially the drinks one, a very wide range of alcoholic beverages at a very reasonable price). We really felt at home at Hibiscus! This place is highly recommended!

The Hibiscus Garden Inn was a nice slice of paradise in Puerto. Staff was all incredibly pleasant and very hard working. Accommodated all our needs / requests. One of our group left his wallet and they kept it safe for us while on a live aboard dive boat for a week. Grounds were swept and cleaned very regularly and rooms were clean and bedding was nice. Pool was always clean. Restaurant was great, we ate breakfast there daily and lunch a time or two. Located close to other restaurants, shopping, and there’s always a tricycle nearby if you want to go further. I would highly recommend the hibiscus garden inn for your stay in Puerto!!

Very good hotel in the heart of Puerto Princessa. Great service. The staff helped us with start to finish planning of multiple trips and they had great ideas about what we could do. The food is exceptionally good. Usually bread and simulated European food is super sweet in the Philippines, but the food tastes similar to the European versions. The rooms are clean and the garden is very neatly groomed. Be ware that a lot of people travel further north after a few days in Puerto Princessa, as the town it self isn’t the most interesting (at least in my opinion). We saw the underground river, and that is definitely worth a visit.
