Was able to visit this place right before the pandemic. Wanted to wait a few weeks after it opened before going as there are usually big crowds of people whenever a new restaurant opens. Was surprised that even after a couple of months, there was still a waiting line when we arrived. And it soon became apparent to us as to why this was the case. As with any samgyupsal restaurant in the Philippines, the main draw really is the eat-all-you-can aspect of it. Next is the current national interest in k-pop and k-drama, especially among the younger generation, and any and all things korean-related. Filipinos love to eat, and unlimited meat (pork or beef), is something predominantly carnivorous Filipinos would have a hard time resisting. Novelty can only last so long but what really keeps people coming back to a new restaurant is, aside from good quality food, the quality of the SERVICE. I was expecting to receive terrible service (which is a small price to pay for being able to gorge myself on unlimited meat and sides) but to my pleasant surprise, we were treated very well -- quickly and courteously -- by our servers, Orly and Florian. I was really pleased with the service we received from them that I still remember their names 10 months later as I write this. I know I should have written this sooner but things happened, OK? Didn't expect to be trapped at home for an extended period of time with nothing to do... Anyway, I was reminded to write this review when we had the chance to visit again recently after the lockdown was partially lifted. Because of all the social distancing protocols, there was not a lot of people this time around. The food was still great, but sadly, no Orly or Florian. The service was still OK, though. Food arrived fast and fresh. We knew already what to order from the last time and expectations were met. Congratulations to the management and staff for being able to keep things consistent even after the long hiatus. Keep up...
Read moreMy wife and I are having our vacation in Palawan. We decided to have our dinner in this restaurant; however, I am a bit disappointed with our experience.
First, there is no lettuce available, even though it was still early, around 6 pm.
Second, the area is not clean. I noticed one group who had finished their dinner, and there is another group waiting outside. The waiter cleaned the table, but he did not clean the floor, which had lots of used scattered paper tissues.
Third, the side dish is very few. They did not serve us with kimchi, which is very important for a Korean restaurant.
Lastly, the price is tricky for people who will be using PWD and Senior Discounts. They will be charge with the amount 699 and will be getting a discount appropriate for them. But for regular costumers, they will be charge only with 549 and claiming its a promo price. Lol.
Over all, it was not a pleasant experience compared to other Samgyupsal experience. Hoping that other branches in the Philippines is...
Read moreThe food is okay, wide assortment of meats and sides to pick from. The place is spacious, airconditioned, and has a dedicated parking, both in front and on the back. By design, it should be a great place. The service is horrible though. It took us a while to get seated, and almost a half hour to get the attention of the servers, who did not automatically go to our table once we were seated, and our first order of raw meat was forgotten, so we had to start over and wait again, which took a while. Everything we needed after that took a while as well. The waiters kind of had an "attitude", probably due to overwork. My take is because they have a 2 hour limit on the buffet, they try to stretch it out as much as possible with slow service. This place has a management problem. It is a first class restaurant with economy class service. BTW, this was my second time there. The first time was almost 2 years ago, and it was just like that. Servers just standing in a corner, and hard to get...
