There is nothing special place to dine-out local Filipino dishes. There are better options along the street.
Food: 6/10
Taste: 6/10 Just acceptable local dishes in terms of flavors, meat texture, and seasoning of the dishes are just okies.
Presentation: 6/10 nothing special on the food is plated and garnished. Food preparation is a bit long vs. other restaurants in the same class.
Freshness: 6/10 ingredients seem okies, not a high-quality
Portion size: 6/10 they serve just the right amount of the portions, and some dishes like fish and chip that I tried are quite small
Service: 6/10
Attentiveness: 7/10 the staff responds quickly and effectively to my needs.
Knowledge: 7/10 the server's knowledge of the menu is okies. They suggested to me the best seller dishes, which are roasted beef and baby back ribs. The taste of these two dishes is just acceptable to me.
Friendliness: 7/10 friendly and helpful staff in general
Atmosphere: 6/10
Decor: 6/10 the restaurant's ambiance is so so including the simple decor and music is a bit loud. I suggested to lower down volume so it won't be in the marketplace once the store is crowed.

Noise level: 5/10 Indicate whether the restaurant is noisy a bit during peak hours and quiet late in the evening from 09.15 PM onwards

Additional tips: more dishes on menu so customers can have fabulous choices. I suggest the restaurant should have set menu or...
Read moreThe place is almost always full, not that I always try to get a seat or not that I have tried before. Every time I drive by, the place is almost packed. Driving home one night from work, I started craving for something that will really fill up my grumbling stomach. Was I hungry! It was at some point in Maginhawa that I remembered this Fat Cousins' Diner. I got there with parking full, but since I was already set to eating meat, I waited. Not for long a space was freed and the guard was really helpful. I almost darted in and begged for steak, but I stood a while and measured the crowd. It was a pretty mixed, a bit loud crowd. With young locals, maybe students and some foreigners. A crew led me to a table which after I quickly went to line up for my order. The price was very reasonable. The food was moderately more than good. But the serving size is just right. For those hearty diners, it is worth noting that they serve unlimited rice and unlimited drinks! When you are as hungry, want to eat good tasting meat that fills the tummy, and a lift in spirits drop by Fat Cousins' Diner. But if you want quiet and privacy, this is not the place. Luckily, that night it seemed the place was just perfect for my cravings. I left with my tummy fat and my...
Read moreI ordered the T-bone steak. Tbh, it's difficult to slice. There's nothing special, as well, with the taste. I loved their mashed potato, though.
For the price of 368 php, I was served with T-bone steak, 1 cup rice, 1 serving of mashed potato, corn and carrots, gravy, and a choice of beverage. I would say that the price is reasonable. The ambiance and the service justifies the price.
Food is just so-so. Ambiance and service is great.
Cons: I feel awkward as the servers watch you eat (due to the small space/area, they have nowhere to go/stand) I understand they are just being attentive to the customers but it really feels awkward being watched...
