If you're seeking an authentic Japanese ramen experience, I highly recommend visiting Ippudo. Their Hakata ramen is like a trip down memory lane for me, as it was the first authentic ramen I tasted when I visited Japan back in 2002. Ippudo's different ramen flavors are simply variations of their original Tonkotsu ramen, which is one of the best commercialized ramens you can find. The soup is incredibly rich and flavorful that you'll want to savor every last drop, while the noodles are thin, firm, and bursting with flavor. Their charshu is also one of the most delectable I've ever tasted. The only downside is that the egg doesn't quite measure up to the ones I've eaten in Japan. Unfortunately, I must deduct one star due to my recent takeout experiences during the pandemic. Despite paying the same price, some ingredients were missing from the ramen, such as the egg, and the portions seemed smaller. It's a bit disappointing considering how fantastic their in-person dining experience has been in the past.

Ippudo has been one of my favorite, more mainstream chain of ramen restaurants since i first tasted it in Japan 6 years ago. I've since visited most of their branches in Manila over the course of those years and I've never been disappointed πŸ’– so when i heard a branch popped up near my area, i just couldn't pass on it! πŸ’– This branch surely did not disappoint πŸ’– there's also a common al fresco area that they share with the other restaurants nearby so its perfect for groups or families that cant decide where to order Our server, Angela, was great! πŸ’– She offered to turn on the fan towards us since it was particularly hot that day and we had a dog with us. The broth, as always, is rich and filled with umami flavor. One thing i can comment on tho is i feel like the slices of pork were thinner than usual. Despite this, it was still an overall great experience! πŸ’–

You could say Ippudo is one of the most trusted ramen chain around, no frills. One bowl is already beyond β‚±500 since the posting of this review which caught us in a bit of a surprise. It was still as good as we usually have, and still definitely worth the money, but its quite sad a bowl of ramen surpassed this pricing threshold. We ordered extra hard noodles but it came as not too hard, well at least for me. Service is very good though, we were promptly seated and never had to wait for anything regarding the branch. Huge salutations. Still a great go to place for a ramen craving but eventually the prices are not gonna be worth it soon I think.

I thought i wouldn't be able to fault Ippudo's impecable service as we were always treated well at any branch we went to however, this brach is an exception to that. We went to Robinsons Magnolia branch for lunch but from the start we were met with unenthusiastic greeting then our server doesnt seem to be interested in serving us and looked like he was preoccupied at the time. After we were seated at our table the server started to arrange it and brought the utensils but to our suprise we were served a cheap wooden chopstick not their standard one. We noticed that among all the guest that was there at the time including the the ones that arrived after us were served properly and was given the usual matching utensil setting. We also noticed that our server is more welcoming and accomodating to the other guests but us. My thought is that they profiled us based on how we looked at the time. We dont wear jewelries and we came there wearing regular clothes compared to most guests that day. We tried to voice our dissatisfaction when the food was served but it was not addressed and they just shruged it off. Needless to say that encounter left a sour taste in our mouths. After we finished our meal they had the gall to have us answer their survey of how our visit went. At the end the only thing the manager did was to apologize.

We are very dissappointed and dissatisfied with the service at this...
