If there is a Chinese restaurant that could make me eat lots of Yang Chow and Chami, its none other than Lido Cocina Tsina. My family and I is a frequent diner of their Mindanao Avenue branch for breakfast.
However, I got the chance to level up my Lido experience by being able to taste some of their best sellers together with some good friends who also love to eat. We had a lot but let me highlight the following dishes in my review:
Shrimp Foo-Yong this one in particular is new not just in my eyes but also in my taste palette. I love shrimps but them being combined with egg and rice with a really good sauce, there was a burst of texture and flavors in my mouth. I cannot help but make sure to go and bring my family and make them taste this dish.
Yang Chow what a treat! The serving of their Yang Chow is really big and generous. Not just in terms of the rice but also the ingredients that goes with it -- lots of shrimp, meat and vegetables too. There is a crisp on the carrots, saltiness (not too much) and meaty.
Chami Special it reminds me of Udon because of the noodles they use but if you eat the dish itself, I appreciate that its really saucy (sweet and also a kick of soy) also the crunch whenever I munch the vegetables. I am sure that kids would love this dish.
Spareribs in Salt and Pepper I am not a fan of Salt and Pepper 'coz honestly some restaurants serve this particular dish in a very mediocre way wherein you cannot enjoy chunks of meat already. Its like eating bones but Lido's was very different.
Lumpiang Shanghai Lido's Shanghai is really rich in meat so, if you are not a fan of too much vegetables on your Lumpia, visit Lido and order for your group then. I am personally not a fan of the dish itself due to preference but I would eat if its included in the order.
Other dishes I got to try: Manchurian Wings, Pugon Roasted Asado, Chunky Pork Siomai, Buchi, their Local Blend Coffee (available both hot and iced) and Pandesal (which I should try with the Asado next time!)
To conclude my visit, I love how each dish in Lido is -- you will get a distinct taste that will make you eat more and not to mention, the flavors are rich. You get what you pay for, and to be honest more than what you pay for.
I would definitely come back to try their...
Read moreThis new branch has more than adequate parking. We were served our orders in an instant despite 5 separate groups of customers with at least one fried food orders. Food taste is of a typical Chinese restaurant. The only distinquishing food that sets it apart would be the fried lumpia and the pugon roasted pork asado.
The fried lumpia is really roundly stuffed and meaty as compared to other establishments that is excessively commercialized mainly made of wrapper or extenders. The taste is likewise great. The pugon roasted asado is the house specialty. There is no word to describe the distinct taste...
Read moreWe tried dining in at Lido Cocina Tsina. Ordered Hototay Soup, Squid Chili, and their famous Pugon Roasted Asado.
Hototay Soup - served in a hot bowl but the soup is way to be warm. So we asked it to be reheated.
Squid Chili - nothing fancy, mas masarap pa ang ginisang pusit ng nanay mo.
Pugon Roasted Asado - in their menu the asado is glistening in fat oil, however, we receievd a “cold cuts” of asado. Meat is dry and served cold.
Verdict - is it worth the price, no!!! Worth the try? Hmmm.. if you want to experience dining in, go ahead, but do not...
