Manam | Robinsons Magnolia — Restaurant in Quezon City

Dined here twice and both were bad experiences.

First time we dined, we took home our leftovers and guess what, when we arrived home, we discovered that we also took someone else’s kare kare leftovers. This is the first time I’ve experienced such a thing! It’s now just a good conversation starter though, but still crazy!

Second time we dined was around 5pm so it wasn’t even dinner time yet. 30 mins passed since we ordered and food hasn’t arrived yet. Thankfully one of the waiters noticed so she went and checked with the kitchen. Apparently, they lost our paper which contained our orders. Had to wait additional 10-15 minutes for our order to arrive. You bet we were so hungry by the food arrived.

Food is interesting and promising but is just so-so. Tbh, I don’t really get the hype. Maybe foreigners or balikbayans find their food interesting but I’d say there are other Filo restos that taste way better and soothing. Though, I’d still eat at Manam in general but just not maybe in this branch.

PS also really feel bad about the location because there’s a lot of kids playing around which can cause accidents when waiters are serving food from the kitchen. A lot of times I see kids getting in the way of the waiters carrying huge trays of hot food...

Celebrated my sister's bday here today with our titas in attendance. Since its been hot weather lately it took sometime for our guests (titas) to arrive. But nonetheless both my sister and I were able to pass time whilst enjoying our food. But most of all the attentiveness and witty banter with our table attendee - ANNA 😊. Also worth praising are the entire team that served from 4pm to 8pm. Everyone was accomodating to every request our table made (and it was a lot) from request for ice, iced water, calamansi, minced garlic ... they made sure to serve all those and more in a professional and timely manner. Personally the palabok was a bit too salty for my taste. And the air conditioning could do better. Maybe check the exaggerated down light as it may have added to the warmness of the place. Hence, the 3 stars. Apart from that it is truly worth coming back for more of the exciting menu and lovely top notch service. Shout out to MARGIE & RAYMOND & JAY who were equally courteous and all smiles while accomodating our table. Keep up the good...

Manam is already a staple restaurant with service you already know and expect. This is why the experience here is even more disappointing. First, the host is very unpleasant and unwelcoming. It seems like asking her to list us in the line is such a hassle for her. She was irritable and unkind. It also seemed liked plenty of people went past us in line even though we were just seated there. This is because when i looked, our name was already crossed out and newer names were being accommodated. Service was also bad since they were hard to call and food arrived slowly. The worst part is we waited a good 15 minutes for our bill and followed up 3 times. The bill was apparently already in the "finished processing" basket and they just didn't look at it even if we followed up multiple times.
