UCC Park Café Matalino — Restaurant in Quezon City

We were given the menu and asked to choose our food, but the waiter did not tell us that there were items on the menu that were not available. After ordering my first choice, I was too it was not available. So I had to choose again. My second choice was likewise not available. So I asked the waiter what other items were not available and he said those were the only ones. When I asked for my 3rd choice through another waiter, the latter said it was also not available since one of the ingredients (strawberry isn’t available. I asked if they can replace it, but she told me that if one ingredient is hot available, then the item is considered as no longer available. When I told her that I will no longer order anything. She said it’s up to me if I still want it even if there is not strawberry!!! The gall. She did not even apologize for giving me conflicting statements.

Is it too much for the workers to tag the menu and indicate which aren’t available or at least tell us after giving us the menu which items were not available? Other UCC branches do so. This is the first time I encountered this at a UCC branch and it was very frustrating since I was already very hungry.

Management should train their staff very well and make sure that clients are served properly. I understand that they just opened, but before opening, management should ensure that their staff are well-trained...

Love the place. It's well lit, clean looking, and the interior design is classy and pretty. All in all the ambiance is great. And contrary to the experiences of the other reviewers here, during our visit, service was very prompt and punctual, the cake and drinks we ordered were very satisfactory in terms of taste and portion size (though UCC is still quite pricey in general), and our waiter, Mark, was one of the most polite and accommodating ones we have ever encountered. We really went out of our way to withdraw cash, so we could leave a proper tip. Looking forward to going there again. My only complaint is that there's no hand soap on the sink inside the ladies' restroom. There is soap on the sink outside the restrooms though (but no tissue or hand dryer...

I tried recommended beverage, recommended pasta, recommended red meat, and recommended cake. Service of Sir Mark is beyond enough doing the extra mile like VIP. Thanks. You may try ordering online to be delivered but nothing beats the ambiance inside. Its like youre not only paying for the food and drinks but also for the cozy atmosphere and invitin ambiance. I've tried eating there solo once and by group twice, and therefore I conclude that its best for dine in with groups of friends and family. They have unique choice of food and drinks that you wouldnt see elsewhere. Better try it now. See my pics of the food and beverages and the instagrammable interior....
