I went to Candid Coffee last Saturday (midday). I chose it because my wife recommended it.

Upon entry. There was no warm hello or greeting.

I ordered one pour over coffee and one cookie. They were both served in take out containers. When I went to pay the bill, I noticed the total didn't match. It was more. When I asked the lady at the counter, she replied without a smile "oh you wanted these for take out?" ......hm....you served both in take out containers and then charged service charge?

She removed the service charge. Not smiling.

Then when she gave the coffee, the next customer noticed that the cup was leaking, so she pointed it out to me. The lady at the counter, without a smile or apology put that cup into another cup. I then asked her, "why don't I just pour this into the new cup?" She just looked at me.

We left. I had a tissue wrapped around the bottom of the cup. I then noticed a few min later that the tissue was also all brown. The NEW cup was leaking.

The vibe I got from the barista/lady at the counter, was that she KNEW the cup leaked, but didn't care. That's why she double cupped it.

I recently had the pleasure of hosting my workshop at Candid Coffee BGC, and I must say it was one of the most delightful experiences I've had in a coffee shop. Typically, I stop by after my appointments at St. Luke's Global for a quick caffeine fix, but this time, I ended up staying for a couple of hours to conduct my workshop.

Opting for something different from my usual, I decided to try their Toffee Nut, and it was a delightful surprise. Not too bitter, not overly sweet, just the perfect balance. Alongside my coffee, I also had their chocolate croissant not once, but twice. The chocolate filling was divine, though admittedly, I struggled a bit with the inevitable flakiness of the pastry.

I must also commend Candid Coffee for providing such a welcoming atmosphere for my workshop. The ambiance was conducive to productivity, and the staff were incredibly welcoming. A big shoutout to Ms. Pat for being so accommodating and truly nice all throughout the time I was there. It was an experience that I won't soon forget, and I look forward to many more visits in the...
