A Budget-Friendly Quick Fix, But Manage Expectations
If you’re looking for an affordable and quick Japanese meal in BGC, Kawa Ramen offers decent value for money, with prices ranging from ₱200 to ₱400. Their ramen and donburi dishes are reasonably priced, and for the cost, you get what you pay for. The portions are fair, and the flavors are decent enough if you’re not too particular about authenticity.
However, if you’re a big Japanese food enthusiast used to the top ramen spots in Manila, you might find the taste and quality subpar. It’s not the best representation of Japanese flavors, but for casual diners looking for a quick and budget-friendly fix, it does the job.
One dish I wouldn’t recommend is the Chicken Pepper Rice Skillet—what I got was more like chicken poppers rather than the sizzling dish you’d expect. The sauce didn’t do much to elevate the flavor either. If you’re craving pepper lunch-style chicken, you’re better off ordering from an actual Pepper Lunch instead.
On the bright side, service is fast, and your food arrives quickly, making it a convenient choice if you’re in a hurry. If you want a filling meal within a ₱200-₱400 budget, Kawa Ramen is worth considering—but don’t expect anything mind-blowing.
⭐ Overall Rating: 3/5 💰 Best for: Budget-friendly Japanese meals 🍜 What’s worth ordering: Ramen & Donburi ❌ What to skip: Chicken Pepper Rice Skillet ⚡ Fast service, but flavors could be better
Would I go back? Maybe, but only if I need a quick and affordable meal—not for an authentic Japanese...

I ordered Shoyu Ramen from a waitress (pointed the picture on the menu), just 1 order. But upon payment, the same waitress brings me bill of Miso Ramen and told me what I just ate was Miso Ramen.
??? Only 1 order and you could get it wrong too !! I doubt if she really need this job.
Her response was an awkward smile + "sorry". But her hands are still punching the amount onto the payment machine. Hoping I will pay and get lost.
This is the service I paid for your service charge. Good job Kawa Ramen !! 1st attempt at this new ramen restaurant. All is good as usual expectation. The price is quite affordable. Could be a regular lunch/dinner option. Ordered black garlic ramen. The taste is averagely good. Soup is ok, meat is tender and well marinated. One happy customer for dine-in.
However, they are charging packaging fee for take-out. I could not accept this. Are they expecting customers to bring their own container? The moment u allow take-out, it is rational that packaging is included. I can gladly pay service fees for good services, but not the packaging fee. It's...
Read moreThis is one of the few Japanese restaurants that are open at night. I dined here around 1:45 AM and considering the hour, the service was quick and timely as it should be. The ramen was delicious with room for improvement. Gyoza was okay as I’ve tasted better ones in other places. But what intrigued me the most was their Kara-age. It was bite-sized but flavorful on its own. But its dipping sauce, though, when eaten with the chicken can be likened to the taste of McDonald’s chicken sandwich minus the bun, of course. The oddness of it threw me off because I can see that I’m eating Kara-age but tasting it made my brain think I was eating fast food. It was delicious but out-of-place. Maybe change the sauce’s recipe? Overall, it was a satisfactory experience considering its price point. Memorable? For sure. But would I come back? Maybe...
