Agave Fort Bonifacio:
My friends and I planned to spend my birthday (Oct 10) at Agave Fort Bonifacio. I reserved for 15 persons (smoking) for 6pm on October 10, 2013. I called in on October 9 to reserve. At 5:30pm on October 10, Agave texted me asking for confirmation of my reservation. I responded immediately and said yes. We got to the restaurant at around 5:45. We waited for another 10 minutes for a receptionist to assist us. When they finally did, they ushered us into the corner table. (Each table seats 4) They put two tables together. I asked, "I reserved for 15." The waitress goes, "Kaya po 15 diyan, siksikan nalang po." I got irritated because I had that reservation. The other table was occupied by another group which did not reserve at all. I demanded to speak to their manager to settle things. The manager took really long to talk to me, it was already 6:00 and we were very hungry coming from work. When I finally got to talk to the manager, she said that they didnt expect the other group to take long. I explained that I reserved for 15 and it wasn't a last minute reservation. It was a reservation the day before. I told her that I'll give her until 6:15 to think of something for us. It was raining very hard, and moving 15+ people to a different location during peak hours isnt exactly easy. When 6:15 came, I asked the waitress to talk to the manager again. After 10 minutes, another girl came. Apparently, there were two managers, Ms. Rocel Concepcion and Ms. Marites. Ms. Marites, already off-duty, talked to me and explained that it was their fault and they will give me a discount. They said that as soon as the group leaves, they'll fix the tables. Ms. Marites asked if we could just stay inside instead and move later. So I agreed knowing how hungry my workmates and I were.
The night went on and things got better. The food and drinks were good and our group was having fun. An officemate saw that the group outside had less people so he went out and asked if they could move to one table instead so we could occupy the 3 tables outside. They agreed.
When it came time to get the bill, I saw that they overcharged us with drinks. There were 17 people present, and they charged all 17 for drinks although only 15 drank. The other 2 were allergic to alcohol. So I asked to talk to Ms. Marites again but sadly she was gone. So I asked to talk to Ms. Rocel Concepcion, but she wouldnt want to face me. She was giving messages through her waitresses. Take note, she wasn't busy either. She was talking to a friend at the bar. She kept insisting that we ordered 17 drinks and not 15.
Our group noticed the hostility of this Ms. Rocel Concepcion towards our group. A friend changed seats because she felt that this Ms. Rocel was eyeing her in a very hostile manner and it got her very uncomfortable. I admit that I was also uncomfortable with such service coming from the manager of a very reputable restaurant. Throughout the night, I asked to speak with her multiple times but she only talked to me once and that was the first time.
In the end, I wanted to get her name. Instead, she told her waitresses that its not allowed or something like that. When I said I was going to publish this, she put her name on the receipt. It was all gibberish and I couldnt understand it like she was mocking me. As a result, my girlfriend went up to her, got her name and contact details.
Our overall experience at Agave was mediocre. With the price of their food and drinks, I would expect excellency from their leaders. Ms. Marites was a great manager for the amount of time I was able to speak to her but this Ms. Rocel Concepcion was just atrocious. I have informed the Ayala management about this and will go up to their president regarding this experience. I just wanted to spend my birthday with friends and enjoy but it turned out to be a nightmare.
NEVER AGAIN AGAVE....
Read moreOn January 5, 2024, my cousin and I came in and ordered 2 drinks (one of each) and 6 tacos (3 each). A dining experience that should have only taken an hour or an hour and a half at most ended up being 2.5 hours and majority of the time was spent waiting for our bill and food. Our terrible experience began when they got our order wrong after they have read back the order and us explaining countless times that we are each ordering 3 tacos and not 3 tacos altogether. After waiting an additional 15-20 minutes for our other half of the tacos, we noticed that the quality of the second half of the order was obviously rushed and the street tacos beef barbacoa were too soggy. On top of this, our server never followed up on the quality of the food and how it tasted which we found was quite unprofessional. As we were finishing up, we asked a different server if we could get our bill but split it so we only pay for what we ate. They seem to have trouble understanding what "splitting the bill" was when we kept explaining to them what we wanted (I pay for my drink and 3 tacos, and my cousin pays for his drink and 3 tacos). Despite our efforts of simplifying this as much as we could, they were finally able to understand what we meant. At this point of our experience, we are noticeably upset and did not find the need to tip. A "manager" notified us that there was nothing that they can do about the service charge which we found ridiculous because she later bargained with us that they can give us a 25% discount instead but still continue to charge us for a service fee. We noticed that we seem to be the only table that they chose to not check up on because everyone was receiving their orders and requests firsts which we found to be rude and biased. I strongly recommend to not come to this establishment due to their unprofessionalism and avoidance no matter how many times we've asked servers to come to us. No initiative was being made by anyone there.
TLDR: Don't waste your time and money coming to this mid "mexican" restaurant because the food and service is not...
Read moreSunday Night - not a busy time and very few customers. Started out quite okay with the sampler appetizer and iced teas, they just forgot the plate. But after that, it went downhill. The 2nd server who got the order of our mains was very confused with what we ordered even though she jot it down during ordering. We ordered based on their menu, but still seemed confused and almost got 1 single order alcoholic drink wrong even though they have asked us to confirm all the orders. Had another server to confirm an upgrade in the drink even if it's clearly labeled in the actual physical menu.
Single order mojito was also served and labeled bottomless, to which they had to reconfirm with other server again. Iced tea ordered during ordering of mains was even forgotten so we even had to follow up. It really was not a busy time. There were hardly any customers so the service and confusion is very disappointing.
Price of upgrade on margarita is different from menu vs punched price Verbally said that the reason upon confirmation: forgot to reflect updated in the menu. Violation in RA 7394
Food is actually quite good. We didn't even care that the food took a while. But will definitely stay away from this branch. Opted to try this out for a good place but left very stressed out. Bad experience.
Also no bottomless iced tea option vs in website menu,...
