4-year Craving Satisfied!
Since its opening in 2018, I've always wanted to try New York's famous Magnolia Baker or M Bakery in the Philippines. Well known for their cupcakes and their banana pudding. Having a huge, huge sweet tooth, having their banana pudding has always been a dream for mE but their long queues during the early years of their operation and my busy adult life has kept me away from those precious puddings. That is until I got a chance to walk along One Bonifacio High Street Park for a photowalk and passed by M Bakery.
I initially thought they would open as the same time as the mall but I was suprised that they opened as early as 8 AM. Without any hesitation I gently opened the door and found myself in dessert heaven. Rows upon rows of cupcakes and shelves full of bars, cookies and other sweet creations fought for my attention. I was a man on a mission and that is to have my first M Bakery Banana Pudding. I immediately got a medium sized tub and also had 1 Blueberry Jamboree. Even at 8 AM the store was starting to get busy with a handful of customers around. Theirs space was tiny and was just enough for a few customers to queue inside and a small long table for a few diners. Most of their tables were located inside the mall and outside the store fronting their see-through cake decorating station.
I had my pudding and Jamboree to go as that day was not blessed with some soft breeze for me to endure the bright sun shining over the al fresco area. I hurriedly walked back to finally devour these goodies. The Jamboree Icebox Bar wasbig enough for two. You can see most of the bluberries were plump and fresh with a few ones that have departed and left their sweet corpses over the layer of thick cream and cream cheese and a pecan graham base. Despite the whipped cream and cream cheese filling, each bite was very light and not overly creamy and sweet. Finally the bread pudding. My first bite of it was everything I expected and some I did not expect. It was creamy but not the heavy creamy type that makes you cringe. It was sweet but not overly sweet and the bananas looked like they were just peeled and frozen in time. It showed no signs of any darkening. This pudding has hit the dessert sweet spot and has achieved that perfect balance. It's a shame I cant finish the whole tub for myself as I had to leave some for my sister.
Im glad I finally got my 4-year craving satisfied and M Bakery's banana pudding did a darn good job at it. I was absolutely happy with what I got to try over at M Bakery and I cant wait to try the rest of...
Read moreHad dessert here after lunch through a friend's recommendation. I hadn't heard of this bakery before, but we all loved it!
We had their Billionaire Banana Pudding and Lotus Biscoff cheese cake -- as well as tea and coffee. The banana pudding was a revelation -- it's so good! It's like you would expect it as an ice cream but instead you have a tasty cream that isn't too sweet, banana slices, and brownies/chocolates for sweetness. I can't describe it well enough, but banana and chocolate is such a good combination. The small size is about 150 pesos. I would crave this 5/5 and so happy their on Grab! (As i dont live in the area).
My other friends loved the biscoff cheesecake more, which is also pretty good - it's small but rich and dense. The biscoff really went well with the cheescake. This was about 300+ php
It's safe to say our goodies disappeared in a flash! 😆 we ate in their establishment. They had coffees, juices, and tea (small twinings teabag selection). While there werent a lot of seating options, they did provide water for dine-in guests. It's more like a to-go bakery, we saw lots of customers buying and the lines would lengthen but the staff were fast to accommodate them.
Definitely, a must-try for me! I bought all their banana pudding flavors home (there are small, medium, large sizes after all and 3 flavors: billionaire, plain, and chocolate) to try them. Staff told me to consume in 3 days and keep them chilled in the ref (not frozen). No doubt their other baked goods would taste incredible and im pretty sure I'll be back...
Read moreBeen to M Bakery several times now and it’s become my go-to dessert spot in BGC. The banana pudding is exceptional - rich, creamy, with perfect banana flavor that doesn’t taste artificial. The tres leches is equally impressive, moist and indulgent without being overly sweet.
Small space but packed with tempting treats that all look bakery-fresh. The display case makes it hard to choose just one thing. Service is efficient with plenty of staff available to help - no waiting around wondering if anyone will take your order.
The environment is comfortable and clean with decent seating options both inside and out, so you can actually sit and enjoy your dessert rather than just grab and go.
Yes, it’s pricier (325 for 1 medium size pudding dessert) than your average bakery, but the quality ingredients and BGC location justify the cost. You’re paying for premium desserts made right, not mass-produced sweets. Will definitely keep coming back to work my way through their menu. Highly recommend for anyone wanting quality desserts...
