1/5 stars because only the food and the music jam here is good (although other unli Samguypsal restaurants in the PH have more variety of side dishes than this one with similar or even lower prices than this one, Samgyupsalamat has 10 varieties (different cuts and different seasoning) of pork and beef, which were good, btw. My favorite was the Gochujang Beef.)
The service, however, is another story. I have this feeling that they were understaffed the day we ate there with my friends.. I don't know...
They didn't announce people's names loud enough such that they skipped us even if we were literally just a meter away from him. A friend told me that other Samgyupsalamat branches scream loudly so that people can hear their names being called while this one said names too softly such that they skipped some even when they were literally a few meters away from the receptionist. Thankfully, we were asked to enter eventually.
I don't know if it only applies on our table but whenever we asked for more pork, beef, water, and cheese, they took a while before they give it to us. We even had to remind the staff 4 - 5 times just to give us cheese.
After staying there for nearly 3 hours, we only received 7 servings of meat (There were four of us, BTW). At that time frame, if the service had been fast enough, we would have received 10+ servings of meat already including some time to rest. (No time limit though which is a plus but no addt'l star since the service was too slow)
Also, the cleanliness of the plates here was also a huge turn-off since the plates given to us still have stains on it so my friends and I had to wipe them with tissue.
I will still eat in other Samgyupsalamat branches though, but not in this...
Read moreI've been to multiple samgyupsalamat branches and I love this branch! The first time I went with friends the place was jampacked for a Saturday and their vents were broken so they didn't open until the afternoon. We ended up eating at Frankie's. I decided to give them another chance and went on a Sunday. What a difference. We were seated right away, there was no line and our food was served instantly. I love how prompt the staff are, it might take a bit of effort to call them out but once you get their attention they are courteous and accomodating. I highly recommend B2 and P1 for meat choices. B2 marinade is delicious and never nakakaumay. I am obsessed with their pickled radish, it gives such a freshness to the meat and cuts through the oiliness. Their kimchi is good too. I also appreciate how the charcoal was flaming hot when we arrived. I tried their branch near Shopwise Makati and the charcoal was so bad it took us a while to cook the meat. Not in BGC. Had a lovely time over all and will come back again! The only thing I disliked was how run down the bathroom seems to be. There was no smell but it...
Read moreI think these are one of the first few Samgyupsalamat branches that has been commonly visited. We visited the place at around 9PM and said they usually close at 11PM.
It didn't look new but was somewhat maintained enough. It does seem kind of dim so either it'd be relaxing for your eyes or something dingy. The wait wasn't too long for a Saturday night.
The usual pork, beef and chicken options were available. We got the beef options since beef IRL isn't always that cheap. Lol. What we loved were the side dishes - the japchae, soup, kimchi, and fish cake. We also got the steamed egg which was always a winner.
They were quick to refill the unli-drinks, iced tea and water.
They had a nice TV that played Korean songs on YouTube. The internet wasn't fast enough to play them and half of the time it was paused or loading. Either way, it is the friends along way that keeps us busy. Char.
We didn't bring a car but behind the establishment is a large parking lot. We took the moovr bikes and there's one across and...
