Katarynka — Restaurant in Bydgoszcz

I had the pleasure to eat our lunch there again before my departure home. I must first mention the male staff member who with a big welcoming smile greeted us as we arrived ( no lies there) same as other reviewers say it. He graciously taken our order for drinks ( beers arrived very swiftly) I must say. His attention to customer service was excellent as it was the delicious food that we ordered. I ordered “Krupnik” soup. Perfect taste ( as good as Mums). Followed by pork goulash served with buckwheat & beetroot salad on the side. My friend had tomato soup with “kluski” followed by Chicken schnitzel with mashed potatoes & vegetables. Both of our dishes where perfectly prepared & served. Enough for lunch & reasonable price. Don't get me wrong, food was great! What wasn't great, was the lack of distance between tables. It's December, it's cold, and Covid is surging in the world, and especially in Poland. We reserved a table for 5, and got seated right next to the window, where a lovely couple, were practically sitting right up against me and my 85 year-old grandfather, and next to my 78 year-old grandma and my 62 year-old dad was a teeny-tiny divider and then another occupied 2-person table. Only reason I didn't leave, was because my family asked me to not make scene. It's a really bad signal to send, and it shows me that the restaurant doesn't care about my or my family's health. Just money. I did like the food, but I will not be returning to this place. Because if they do not care about my, my family's or even their own servers health, they don't...

The menu is not extended and exists of simple dishes. The quality of the food is however excellent and the service in this restaurant is fantastic. In the 20 odd times i had dinner in this restaurant the food was always the same high quality and the service always spot on, not one small error and i look at the details all and all it is always a joy to eat in this restaurant. And the majority of restaurants in Holland where i live could take this restaurant as an example how it should be done!

Unfortunately the service has declined lately. So now they serve your beer that you ordered before dinner after etc etc. Pity used to be very nice, would not...
