We had a reservation and noted that we were celebrating a promotion. We arrived a bit earlier, thinking that if our table wasn’t ready, we’d take a walk—but the host assured us it wouldn’t be an issue.
We were seated next to a larger table, also with a small baby, and unfortunately, the service at their table was noticeably better than ours. We had to ask twice for water, as our waiter forgot the first time. After finishing our first round of drinks, no one came to check if we wanted anything else.
Since one of us is pescatarian, we asked about the soup of the day. My husband ordered the pumpkin cream soup, which was meant to be made with beef stock, and I skipped the starter. As we waited, I double-checked with the waiter to confirm it was on the way. However, after everyone else had already finished their starters, the waiter finally returned to inform us that they didn’t have the pumpkin soup at all. Instead, he offered a tomato soup as the only available option. It was awkward and disappointing, especially given the delay and the dietary consideration behind our original request.
To make matters worse, the roasted cauliflower arrived cold, and the tongues we ordered were completely flavourless.
Throughout the meal, no one checked in to see if we were happy with everything or if we needed anything else. It was especially disheartening to see the table next to us receiving outstanding service while we were left feeling ignored.
For a restaurant of this caliber, it was a big disappointment. We were genuinely excited to celebrate a major promotion with our family, and had the service been better, we definitely would have stayed for more drinks, dessert, and coffee. Instead, we ended up leaving to get dessert elsewhere because we were so upset. At one point, we had over six empty glasses on the table for more than 15 minutes, and when my husband accidentally dropped his knife right next to the waiter, there was no reaction or offer to replace it.
This is not the level of service one expects from a restaurant that presents itself as high-end. Very...
Read moreNot the best value for money at all, considering the dining scene in Bydgoszcz. On the one hand, they seem to position themselves in the premium segment (definitely considering the price range), but in reality - there is a big room for improvement - both flavour and presentation-wise as well as the level of service. The bread was served cold, a few dishes in our order had the same (mustard and honey?) sauce, a few had unbalanced flavours (a number of strong flavours in one dish essentially fighting each other), one of the starters had an unnecessary toast as a base?! They also seem to be re-using ingredients "for better or worse" (rather than driven by the balanced flavour) between the dishes (e.g. radishes and other salad ingredients) - making the dishes similar and generic rather than something distinct, thought-through and memorable. They forgot to put the beetroot in the beetroot salad (they did make up for it by offering one desert free of charge, but that's not an experience you would expect from a restaurant suggesting the premium experience). Overall, to me, the premium price range of this restaurant seems to be a...
Read moreWhat a place...I am not easily satisfied with a food that I'm served in restaurants but this place just knocked me off my feet! We had a great starter and a lovely main dish. The food was fresh, nicely presented, well cooked ( fish was soft, easily flaked with a fork, veggies were crunchy...mmmmhhhhh)...I work in a food business myself, therefore I love to eat and I love to eat well, without any disappointments just like I ate in Kuchnia. What was also very important is the way we were served all that goods. The restaurant crew was on a very high level. Everybody was doing their job the best way possible including the owner;)) we had a little chat and I must say I was impressed. The knowledge, the passion, the engagement presented by him were very impressive . Awesome guy;))) see you all...
