U Szkota — Restaurant in Gdansk

Popped in with a group of friends. We thought coming from Scotland we should go into a Scottish pub. We were having a good laugh and maybe slightly loud. However we were mixing with the locals in the bar. Unfortunately a moody member of staff who was not on duty asked us to be quiet. When we said we were just having a good time be informed that this was not a Scottish pub for Scottish people it was for Polish people. An absolutely cracking pub, which should really deserve five stars but for the smelly toilets, lack of any Scottish beers and very patchy WiFi.

However, as a Scot, I can say that it really is a place any Scots in Gdansk should visit. A flawless playlist of modern and classic Scottish tunes from the 80s to the 2020s is pretty impressive; the staff are excellent and the Guinness is pretty good, too, with an increasing range of Scotch whiskies.

Tasty, reasonably priced, well made drinks. Enjoyed the music and the interior. Friendly staff! Was surprised to spot this place in Gdańsk actually. Having been to Scotland, it reminded me very much of the most touristy pubs in Edinburgh. So I guess, in a way, it is true specifically to the tourist experience of Scotland.
